What song is stuck in your head today?

WHY oh why is it that the song that gets stuck in your head and goes roundandround all day is never one you actually LIKE? In fact, it's usually one you hate!

And if not, you hate it by the end of the day.

Today I'm stuck with a song from "Guys and Dolls": Sit down you're rocking the boat.
Sigh.

What's in your head today?

"Every Day Is Exactly The Same" by Nine Inch Nails

I can feel their eyes are watching
In case I lose myself again
Sometimes I think I'm happy here
Sometimes, yeah, I still pretend

Trade you any time you like, NFS. I'm stuck with a chorus from church: Roca Eterna. My pastors are in their late 50s/early 60s and they love the old happy-clappy 60s choruses. Songs for the Musically Challenged.

Once You Had Gold by Enya

I had Morning Train stuck in my head because I listened to it on repeat for about 20 minutes in the car.  Singing along, off key, naturally.  It was my own fault.

I can't tell you how many times, "Onward Christian Soldiers," or, "Lift High The Cross," has been stuck in my head, rehashing distant memories of growing up in the Episcopal church.  It's not fair, YG.  We deserve better than this.

HH -- I like that style of music but I didn't enjoy the song too much. Are all of the songs like that?

Yes and no.  In fact, that wasn't the one stuck in my head.  It was Drinkin' Whiskey Tonight, but none of the videos had good sound.

I found some more of their music online. I like it. I like the feel of the 1920's and 1930's. :)

My songs -

"Gold on the Ceiling" by The Black Keys from their upcoming album, El Camino.
"666 Conducer" by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

"666 Conducer" is a slow rock jam with truthful lyrics. "Gold on the Ceiling" is a fast jam with danceability with good ol' rock 'n' roll. I love The Black Keys! :) Now..who wants to dance with me?

Day 2 of "Gold On The Ceiling" by The Black Keys. It's probably my fault for having it on repeat. It's such a great song.

And today it's the Overture to the Wedding of Luis Alonso. A Spanish operetta (zarzuela). That tune is used for many things in this house and is sometimes called "The Gumdrop Song." But today it's making me crazy.

This sounds interesting.

My song - "Is You Is or Is You Ain't My Baby" by Louis Jordan. Ohhhh yeah..I'm taking it back to the 1940's.

Josh, the original title is La Boda de Luis Alonso and it's by Gerónimo Giménez y Bellido. (You must understand that The Gumdrop Song is MY title for it, no one else's. Don't go looking for it by that name!!  :-D)

"It's a Kick," from the Jungle Book.  Oh, I wish I could live in a time when trumpets were still so necessary!
