Dick Cheney

I know it is stressful being the vice president of the U.S. but what do you think this guy is eating?????

"Cheney's health has long been an issue.

In 2005, he underwent six hours of surgery on his legs to repair a kind of aneurysm, a ballooning weak spot in an artery that can burst if left untreated.

He has had four heart attacks, quadruple bypass surgery, two artery-clearing angioplasties and an operation to implant a special pacemaker in his chest."

If I'm not mistaken, he had heart "issues" long before his vice presidency.  I'd bet my bottom dollar (a common Texasism) that he's a big beef eater, probably at all three meals and in-between snacks!  Typical fat cat Houston CEO; he used to be CEO of Haliburton.

I just started working at a cardiology clinic (I'm a nurse)  and it's shocking how  people I talk to daily who have had aneurysms, heart attacks, "artery scrapings" I call it where they scrape fat from your arteries, etc.  They usually have diabetes as well.  I ask them, "What did you eat for breakfast", and invariably I get the usual McDonald's Bacon Egg and Cheese biscuit, usually more than one.  EEEK!

This is totally acceptable in society, and insurance costs go up and up.  I know a lot of this is genetic, but come on...help yourself out a bit...!
My BF and I have had our blood pressures even out, cholesterol come down, etc. after going veg.  It's not that hard, and you get to really know your food!  :)

I'm not sure how everyone is going to react to this, but i think that despite any prejudices we may hold due to politics, SAD people, etc, Dick Cheney should be in our prayers (along with, of course, all people who suffer from similar afflictians)

yes a lot of this is self-inflicted, but it is hard NOT to harm yourself through food in the society that we live in today. A lot of this is genetic also - some people are just predisposed to having issues with thier hearts. my family, for example has had a history of these problems. my grandmother, res her soul, died of an aneurysm. my dad has heart issues and also has sleep apnea.

there are many reasons why i am a vegetarian - i care about animals of course. i say to myself "God never would have given us cows if he knew what we were going to do to them"
but i also care about my health and the health of America. there needs to be a change here. even the way we feed our animals makes their meat less healthy to eat! untill change occurs, however, there is not much we can do but continue to be a voice in the world.
and, of course, try to help and pray for those who are not so fortunate

We're talking about pure evil here...
Without a doubt, Dick Cheney eats little babies.

Hey as far as Dick Cheney goes.....F*ck him! I agree....he is as pure evil as evil gets. He has caused the pain, suffering,  and deaths of way too many to mention. All for his profit and greed. I didn't bring him up here, but there are probably few in this world I feel absolute hatred for....he is very close to the top of my list.

Davedrum you are my new best friend!
Honestly, the world would be a better place if Dick Cheney were dead.
In fact I would use my money (which doesn't normally grace the doorstep of a fast food place) to buy him a few extra greasy McMuffins in hopes it'd finish him off. This is, in fact, THE ONE instance in which McDonald's may have helped humanity...

I don't think that I have ever in my life had a party for somebody that has passed on.....when DICK does...I'll let you all know....I hope in a way it's slower and more painful than those that are suffering this very day because of his beliefs, desires,  and policies......Any others that feel this way.....when I have that celebration...your all invited.....I have made my thoughts on DICK known...so I'll try and move on now...Just his name fills me with hate. I really am not a hateful person. I try to be about love and compassion. If DICK would have thought like I (we) do, I know that this world would be a safer, and much more happy place.....amen...peace to all of you.

Off topic:

Martha, my DH and I are looking to relocate somewhere and have been looking at towns along the corridor between San Antonio and Austin.  If you had it to do over again, would you chose to live in Buda?  Do you have any knowledge of the school system that you'd care to share?  If you'd like to response by e-mail I can be reached at tonia l m o at yah**.com.  I'd really like your opinion.  Take the extra spaces out and make the necessary substitute for the **s.  I can give you mine of Uvalde and their hospital, stay away, far away!

I hate to rain on your party.  But they'll just find somebody just as bad to replace the Dickhead if he kicks it!  He's just one of the herd!  But he does need our prayers, those of us who believe.  Lord help him see the light.  He's in the dark in so many ways.

No, he's not one of the "herd"...he's an evil evil man. He is a "leader"! He has caused the suffering of millions. He has run corporations that have harmed our environment. He hunts...for "FUN" (yeah that's a "sport"...killing things and watching them die). He was one of the major orchestrators for the war in Iraq, which has caused death, destruction, and suffering. He supports the Talibangelicals, and their anti-gay agenda over his own daughter. She is a gay woman, who is now having a child and deserves to be able to marry the one she loves. He would rather get the support of the Talibangelicals, over giving his own daughter the support and love she deserves. That alone shows me his cold cold heart. I guess he would rather "stroke" his supporters that helped put him into office, then to give his own flesh and blood the right to marry her life partner. I hope he feels pain one day. Lots and lots of pain.....it will never make up for the pain he has caused to millions on our planet earth.

This is not entirely true.  As long as you watch what you eat, it's easy to eat right and not harm yourself.  Do you think Dick Cheney, a man who boasts of his hunting, watches what he eats?  While I agree that we cannot control our genetics and that some folks are more prone to higher cholesterol due to genetics, this is NOT to say we can't prevent ourselves from being victims of heart attacks by eating healthy.

My dad is a prime example of this. Here's a man who just had heart surgery  last year.  He exercises weekly and takes care of himself to the extent of what he eats. I was shocked when I learned of his poor dietary habits.  At work, he would eat 3 artery-clogging donuts when his co-workers brought them in.  Additionally, he loves his cheeses, pastries, cookies, and anything else that has dairy.  So it's not surprising that he has heart problems.  He now buys "vegan" labeled stuff which is interesting since he gave me troubles when I initially converted to veganism.  Veganism is the true cholesterol-free diet.  Since he and I both are both so similiar and therefore have many of the same genes, it will be interesting to see if I ever develop high cholesterol as he has.

Maybe "pack" would have been a better word.  I live right in the middle of the big hunting area; their idea of hunting is to get a deer, etc. cornered next to a tall fence that it can't jump and then shoot it.  It's a lot worse than you can imagine.  But except for formerly being head of a nasty corporation, you could say the same things about 85% (at least) of the males in this area that you said about the Dickhead.  Very rigid conservative views and that's how they were raised and they don't see any reason to look outside their narrow viewpoint.  Does that make them evil?  Good question and not one that anybody but God is qualified to answer.  One thing I'd like to point out though, he is VP of the US of A and has national security monitoring things that are said about him publicly and if you're still overseas, don't be surprised if you get hassled when you try to reenter the country.  Big brother does google!  >:(

i think some of us need to redirect the anger to something less morbid and perverse.  if dick thought like you do, maybe he would be dancing on YOUR grave.  if someone's name fills you with hate, these are issues within yourself, and it will only affect you negatively.

Dick IS dancing...
He's dancing on the way to the bank, over the graves of:

3,195 American soldiers
134 UK soldiers
124 other coalition casualties
and
(minimum) 58,637 Iraqi civilian casualties

YES, he fills me with hate.
Maybe the issues I have within myself are issues with corporate perversion and war profiteering.
If that affects me negatively, as you see it, then so be it. THOSE FACTS SHOULD AFFECT PEOPLE NEGATIVELY! Shame on humanity if they don't.

Well, he's not dancing on my grave just yet. Though I wonder how many more graves were added today. War is bad, war is evil, nothing good comes from it. There was NO need to start a war against, and with those that did not ask for our help and posed NO THREAT to anyone. Hey, as long as Halliburton has made a nice profit off of the war, if I was Dick, that would make me want to dance......

I have a hard time seeing people as *good* or *bad*, the same way it's hard for me to see people is *beautiful* or *ugly*.  (actaully, i know some very techincally 'beautiful" people that I can never think of that way.  I can only look at them and see them as ugly--the nasty things they do and think show on their faces so obviously. )

BUT
I have to say that Cheney strikes me as a truly malicious being.
He's nearly like the modern American Hitler.
Truly a disturbing individual.
