Bento Boxes!

I've decided that I need one and that I cannot live life without a bento box any longer.
I've only seen them online, do any of you know of any store that sells them?

i've seen them at the korean grocery by me.  i'd start at a place like that if you have one around.

There's always eBay! Or find a non-bento box and use it for bento. Mine's a three-section Lock & Lock.

Check your local Asian food marts.  They are probably your best bet if you don't want to order one online.  Bento is fantastic!

Oh, I love bento boxes!  When I worked for a Japanese company it seemed like all the Japanese had bento boxes and all were so intriquing.  There are such a variety of styles and sizes.

Please post a picture of the one you get!

JList, or JBox if you don't feel like sorting through porn to find your lunchbox.

Cali, I am really thinking hard about buying one just like the first one you posted so just wanted to ask....is it quite water tight.  I often take soups to work for lunches and need something that definitely won't leak.

Also what's the other one like compartment-wise?

Yeah foofie I noticed that too.  You may also be the reason I really really want a bento box!

Hey Shelloid, the Laptop lunchbox is not perfectly water tight.  It has one lidded container and three without lids.  You get two (one with lid) that hold about 1 cup each and two that hold half a cup each.  There is also like a one tablespoon size dip container.  If I put moist things in the open containers they dribble into the black lunch box but it doesnt dribble out of that into the carrying bag.

But for soup I would get a thermos wide mouth jar!  Then you would be assured of no spillage.

Yay Foofie.  We have good taste. ;)

thanks for that Cali it's really useful.  Also means that I won't be buying one of those laptop lunchboxes.
I do have one watertight container that I take my lunch in so that's all good.  It's just annoying having to take about 4 different tupperware-esque containers in my bag and I thought the bento would be easier.

Well if you only pack the soggy things in the lidded container then you should be ok.  Personally, I got lazy and bought another set of inner containers, so when I have liquid things I will use the two lidded containers for it! muhahah

They cannot thwart me!
