Whats on your exercise playlist?

So, after some consideration.... (after a thoughtful vegwebber pointed out the working with children while having multiple piercings in my hips and wrists might lead to "OWWWW!") I have decided to slow down on the piercings for rewarding good behavior and was thinking about buying things instead....

My next BIG thing....will be an MP3 player...I mainly want one so that I can make a playlist to listen to at the gym!

What do you listen to that pumps you up when exercising? So far I have

Humps by black eyed peas
Boom, Boom pow, by black eyed peas
I know you want me by pitbull
if you see Amy by Brittany spears
You wanna piece of me by Brittany Spears
welcome to the jungle guns n roses
Devil went down to Georgia Johnny cash(?)
Allstar Smash mouth

and yes, I might include "eye of the tiger" too..hehe...Whats on your exercise mix?

Oooo oo ooo!
I've got some good ones.
Haven't been able to exercise in a while, since I'm still
recovering from having baby in December (major kidney problems :()
But I used to listen to the following a lot:

Float on - Modest Mouse (great for starting a run)
Rainbowarriors - CocoRosie
ROYGBIV - Boards of Canada
Rebel Rebel - Bowie
Young Americans - Bowie
Seventeen Years - Ratatat
Heartbeats - The knife
Such great hights - Postal Service
Nothing Better - Postal Service
Immigrant song - Led Zeppelin
Human behaviour - Björk
Army of me - Björk
Alarm Call - Björk
Hyperballad - Björk
Hit - The Sugarcubes
Cornflake girl - Tori Amos
Bouncing off clouds - Tori Amos

Maybe not your typical "work out" playlist *chuckle*
But I do like my Björk and Tori Amos al lot my dear.

I have a bunch of dance music by Basshunter and Cascada, some Chris Brown, some Britney, some Kelly Clarkson, and some random musical soundtracks.

If you like Black Eyed Peas you should also add "Pump It."  It's probably my favorite song on my list.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia is Charlie Daniels. (Don't hit me, sorry)

ANYWAY-I like to listen to bellydance music or african drumming. I am such a hippie. ;D

The one I've been using for a while has these songs:
(song title - artist)

Girl In A Cage - Horrorpops
Under The Pines - Bodies of Water
Keasby Nights - Streetlight Manifesto
Move, Shake, Drop (I think that's the name?) - Pitbull
Phantom Punch - Sondre Lerche
Teen Age Riot - Sonic Youth
Float On - Modest Mouse ( ;)b good choice Lionheart)
Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck - Blood Brothers
Dashboard - Modest Mouse (this is my favorite one; if I'm feeling meh, it gets me going)
Embrace - Pnau
Two Way Monologue - Sondre Lerche
Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Les Os - The Unicorns
Fake ID - The Go! Team
9mm and a 3 piece suit - Streetlight Manifesto
Juicy (On a Cadillac) - Brainiac
5iVE STAR - Capsule

I like to change the music up every so often so that it's not the same stuff all the time. That or put it on shuffle so that it's a surprise.

One of the best ways to motivate myself to get out for a run is the promise of music which I would never usually confess to listening to. Therefore I currently have an exercise playlist containing:

Shakira (admittedly awesome)
Alicia Keys (ditto)
Rihanna
Bodyrockers
Beyonce
Ciara (check out the video for 'Like A Boy' and tell me she isn't pretty cool)

NOW YOU KNOW MY SECRET...

... you may never leave VegWeb.

Cornflake girl - Tori Amos
Bouncing off clouds - Tori Amos

I LOVE listening to Tori when I work out! (Which is a good thing considering she's like half of the music on my IPod Nano). For me tempo isn't nearly as important as cognitive engagement, especially when I'm running. I can get really lost in Tori, and find rhythm and "flow" even in her barest music.

For awhile I listened to nothing but Poe while running. Love her.

I'm a sucker for 80s music, and on my old Nano I had a gym play list that included lots of Talking Heads, the Clash, etc...

OH! I forgot to say that I read somewhere that a good way to get motivated to exercise is to get audiobooks and listen to those when you exercise so you get absorbed in the plot and don't notice that you're exercising...or something. But I couldn't see myself doing an intense workout to Lord of the Rings, so maybe it's more for walkers.

I do this when I'm doing tedious exercise like walking, stair machine, elliptical...  When I'm running, I need badass music to make me feel like I can run forever!  The playlist I've been addicted to for like a year and a half is:  (probably no one has heard of most of this...)

Bathory- One Eyed Old Man
Hammers of Misfortune- Hunting Tyrant, You Should Have Slain Me, and Troll's March
The Pogues- Wildcats of Kilkenny, Sally MacLannane
Outkast- Gasoline Dreams
King Diamond- Invisible Guests

and a few more, but I'm usually exhausted by the time that part plays through!

Devil Went Down to Georgia is by, I believe, the Charlie Daniels Band.

I tend to listen to loud, angsty Smashing Pumpkins songs mixed with Nightwish and Children of Bodom.

Uh, some of the ones that I listen to consistently are:
Hey mama- Black Eyed Peas
Circus- Britney
If you seek Amy- Britney (haha at its meaning)
Happy Boys and Happy Girls- Aqua
Battery- Metallica

Normally I just shuffle my iPod and skip what I don't want to hear.

I'd just like to say that playing "I'm really hot" by Missy Elliot and watching other people workout is DEFINITELY the greatest idea ever!! I did it today just because the song came up on my ipod and i was looking around and it was sooooo funny!! People always try to look really hot while they're working, so it goes perfectly with the song. I was so intrigued that i didn't even feel the pain when i was working out. Omg, seriously, funniest thing ever.  :-D

That's me...hardcore.  ;)  Those songs aren't super...black?  I can understand the lyrics and stuff and they really motivate me because I LOVE them!

Well, Bathory

But Blood on Ice is an amazing album...I've been pretty much listening to certain Bathory songs obsessively for the past couple of months.  :)

I know it sounds cheesy, but I love working out to Eye of the Tiger by Survivor like Rocky hahaha....

Also anything upbeat like Lady Gaga...and The Beatles and John Lennon just because they're my favourite <3
