One of my computers is a MAC, but it is down in my studio and mostly used for recording, editing etc. MAC is the best for that sort of thing. For the most part it's the industry standard. Just for the record.....My laptop and upstairs office computers are windows based.

I could make some stupid pun here about craving a (Big) Mac, but I won't for sanity's sake. I dual-boot linux and windows; I'm hoping to get an apple powerbook very soon.

Powerbook G4-- I love the computer, but I bought it improperly refurbished... so, it's kind of a pain. I picked up a lemon, but it definitely won't prevent me from buying Macs in the future. I love everything about the system, mine personally is just bad. I go to a liberal arts (journalism) school, so all my friends in the J-School are actually required to buy them; no one else has had any problems with theirs, so I'm pretty sure I just had a bad draw. They're quite expensive though.

I use a Macbook!  I love it--best thing in the world!  iTunes, iMovie, iPhoto, firefox, word, powerpoint and iChat!  Amazing stuff, really.  My high school (it's a small alternative community) gave all the students them.  What I like best is their blue-tooth capabilities.  I can sync my phone, our servers and projectors and camera all wirelessly!

After marrying a box of weetabix, I wiil definitly marry my computer.

Powerbook G4-will NEVER use windows again!  Hoping to add a desktop soon. Macs may cost more but are WELL worth the money (they come with a lot more than your typical PC) and the aggrivation you will save.

Well I just think I gave myself a reason to add a second MAC for myself. Last night as I was in midst of a chat with a friend, and trying to get dinner started, I got a phone call and between typing a msg and as I grabbed the phone, my laptop went off of my kitchen center Island and onto the floor  and went CRASH! So after trying to fix it all night....he died (or is it a he/she)?! So I am now looking as we speak, at the new MacBook Pro online and I guess will be ordering one ( :))!  I have a Mac Pro Desktop in my studio and it is far superior to my other PC's. That will leave me with one window's based PC in my home office. Maybe after owning 2 Mac Pro's the office he/she computer may "fall off" my desk while chatting as well.  ;). I got my first mac powerbook in 1993. I only got the other PC's years ago when I was still having problems opening files and documents others were sending. That changed a pretty long time ago, so I guess shortly  I'll be a 100% mac kind of guy!

I have an iBook G4.  I love the mac user-interface, applications, design, etc.  The only thing I do not love is Apple's lack of environmental initiative.  I'm not sure I would have purchased my laptop when I did, had I known about this.  Of course, I understand you can't live without leaving some ecological footprint, but I'd like to think you have a choice in the matter much of the time.  To read about Apple's poor environmental report card, go here:  http://www.greenmyapple.org/  Yes, it's by Green Peace.  Yes, their own initiatives have been shady as of late, to say the least.  However--the reality is, Apple is producing hardware full of toxic chemicals like flame retardants and polyvinyl chloride, while there are environmentally-safe materials available which can be used without affecting the quality of their products.
"When they're tossed, they usually end up at the fingertips of children in China, India and other developing-world countries. They dismantle them for parts, and are exposed to a dangerous toxic cocktail that threatens their health and the environment."

Anyone care to send a note to Steve Jobs?  If you love your Mac, please take the time to send Apple an email: http://www.greenpeace.org/apple/mact-write.html  I did, because I love Apple products, and because a large, cutting edge and powerful compay such as Apple have the power to make a difference.

For interest's sake, you might like to try this as well.  Find out how big your ecological footprint is.  Apparently, if everyone lived like me, we'd need 1.2 planets.  My footprint is 2.1 hectares.  The average is 8.8 hectares.  What's yours?

I had no idea. I will say however (guessing) other computers must use the same type of material. The good thing on Apples side is the life span of the macs is 10 to 20 times that of other pc's. NOT THAT IT MAKES IT OK. I am really shocked.

To everyone else I have the ibook G4 and the imac g5. If your in the market the built in isight is awesome! Cant want for the new OS to come out in April!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the new Iphone.

Wow, I am really upset now, I guess I wont ever be tossing my Mac I refuse to be responsible for some small child be exposed to toxins.
