So I just got a new one. The old one was really smooth. This one has sort of a scratchy surface and it actually HURTS when I rub it on. Is there any way to make it smooth again?
Try getting it good and wet, and rubbing it with a soft cotton cloth. Sort of "polishing" it.
What is the crystal made of? I had one but ditched it when I found out it was basically pure aluminium chlorhydrate.

It's this except it has aloe in it.
does that actually work for you?

Yes, I LOVE it when it doesn't like chafe my skin off!
The polishing idea should work.
I own 3 stones named something like Thai Crystal deodorant. It works great for me but then I dont normally sweat much at all.
Just wanted to update. I rubbed it with a towel- first dry and then wet, and it worked! It's nice and smooth now and my arm pits are happy. ;) Thanks for the suggestions! I don't know why I didn't think of that!

Hey, yabbitgirl, I use a crystal deodorant. I checked the one I have, and it specifically says on the front "no aluminum chlorohydrate." The only ingredients listed are Ammonium Alum (Natural Mineral Salts). It also says it's hypoallergenic and fragrance & paraben free. Along with that, it says "safe for the environment" and "endorsed by Cancer Treatment Centers." Mine is just callled Crystal Body Deodorant Stick. The website is www.thecrystal.com, and the phone # is 1-800-829-ROCK, in case you're interested in seeing if they sell these anywhere in your neck of the woods.

Ahhhhhh! Bad translation on my part.
Now you know why I no longer work in the field I trained for, but give tutoring sessions from home for peanuts. It's really true--after about age 40, both football players and translators should retire.
