Rawlicious-Toronto, ON

Hey everyone,

I don't think there are alot of Torontonians on here bbbbuuutttt my boyfriend and I just ate at this new raw food/vegan cafe called Rawlicious on Dundas West at Quebec St (in the Junction). It was ssssooooo good and if anyone's ever down this way, you should totally check it out. AND they do all kinds of alternative healing stuff too. I'm in LOVE  :)>>> good thing I live just two blocks away!!

Just wanted to mention it.

that's awesome! I'm living in london right now, but if I'm ever in the t-dot, I'll definitely check it out!

Oh CRAZY you were in the area!! I didn't know any Vegwebbers were near by. Glad to know you're around the Junction, it's lovely. OH!! And I dunno if you know it but right on Dundas West at High Park there is a chocolate shop that serves all organic, fair-trade in-house chocolate. I just recently heard they do some vegan ones. So good, so cheap. And there's like a zillion other wicked eating places too that have great veg*n alternatives.

Happy eating!!

:'( I want to cry. Toronto is so vegan-friendly and you have access to the TVA (they're my favourite...), unlike London. But I'm planning to go to Ryerson to do my master's, so in a few years, Toronto, here I come!

I've always wanted to go to Vegetarian Haven. Have you been there? I heard their vegan cheesecake is amazing.

^^ Hey laurabs, I have been to Veg Haven and I was not that impressed. However, I have not had their cheesecake. I found alot of the food to be a bit kinda bland and blah...lotsa varying tofu stir fries with rice blah blah blah. BUT their "drumsticks" were great. Just like chicken and even on a "bone" (sugar cane piece). Last time a bunch of us went for my boyfriend's birthday and the food was SLOW coming, came out at weird times and in general just sorta sucked. And to our surprise we found out that night that they do not serve alcohol at all, which I thought was weird. We were hoping to share some wine for the evening. I believe the TVA is located above the restaurant...

When you do come to Toronto you should check out Fressen. It's a lovely vegan place with GREAT GREAT GREAT food!! A little pricey but worth it on an evening out (like when you make your boyfriend take you because you were late getting to the opera and they won't let you in and you're all dressed up...). OH and the brunch is heaven and less pricey.

AND, one more thing, even though you're in London right now you should for sure make the treck to T.O for the Veg Food Fest that happens every September. I can't remember the exact dates but you can probably google it. It's super duper fun.

I'm heading to Toronto at the end of May for a weekend stint, so I'll definitely get a chance to try out some of those restaurants...  ;D

I'm hoping to make it to the Veg Food Fest. I couldn't go last year because it was the weekend before the beginning of the school year, and I was moving into my house. I'm not sure when it is either, but I'll check it out, and see if I make it this year!

By the way, this kind of freaks me out:

BUT their "drumsticks" were great. Just like chicken and even on a "bone" (sugar cane piece).

Faux bone? That's a little too realistic for me. :o

Nice food, but way too expensive and lousy service. $7 for a slice of apple pie!! go only if you have lots of time to kill
