Organic Pet Food Sales Way Up! (updated list of the other junk-food)

First I have to say that my dogs need to learn to sleep later (at least some of them)!  :P
I also have to learn to stop reading the news while I wait for them to come in! :o

Since I was up and checking my emails, the girl that owns the Natural Petfood store where I shop emailed me that I should come in soon to pick up my weekly order. I am her biggest customer (I don't know if that is a good thing...or actually really really sad).  :-X  She had to put aside my order in the back before she and her employees sold everything in the store. She said on Saturday she had her highest amount of sales at her store ever (for 1 day). Hopefully people will stick with the Premium and Organic brands for good. Their pets will be much better off if they do. I also hope the "junk food" brands will learn something from this. Doubtful, but I hope they do...

Here's an updated list of all the "junk food" brands for today...I'm sure they will add more tomorrow:

Your Pet

I was at Petco the other night picking up my monthly supply (I don't have quite as many as you).. and I had 1,000 ppl asking me questions about Natural Balance...

but yknow..I still saw people walking out of the store with Pedigree, Nutro etc etc...so while it may make a few switch to a higher quality food....others are going to say Grampa's dog lived to 21 eatin' Ol Roy so that's what I'm feedin..

I normally fed my little old lady cat Wellness brand canned cat food, but when I ran out after a move and didn't know where to find it, I fed her a few days' worth of one of these brands.  I lost her to kidney failure after a hard two week struggle; I don't know for sure, but I have a nasty suspicion.  Even the most careful of people can get burned in a moment of necessity... darn it.  Irony doesn't get crueler than that.  Now I'm trying to find out how to pursue the issue, and discover the truth of the "why" behind the event... not that that will bring her back.  :(

I haven't even been lurking, what with moving, caring for my ailing pet, having 2 computers die, etc.... but I am well and happy and will be back in lurk-land someday soon.

Hey, Duckalucky! I am so sorry you've lost your furry...especially to something like this. My DH who has no opinion usually on such matters, has started calling it "industrial terrorism" meaning someone may have sabotaged the foods on purpose. I think if we ever get another furry I will cook for it. Pet food is either massively expensive here, or the cheap stuff smells like it's been dead for a week, and the fact that the "top" brands are on the list along with everyone else, makes me think that like the European butter mountain and "the great European wine lake", all the pet foods must come out of the same vats.
I am certainly glad to hear that you've survived the move, though, Ducky, and hope to see you again soon here in VegWeb Cafe! ;)

I am so sorry to hear that Duckalucky. My condolences to you over the loss of your beloved......

davedrum,
thank you for posting those good dogfood brands on your other post! I just googled a few of them and i found a few places to buy them near me :)! What do you feed to your dogs? I looked at your profile. I want to thank you for rescueing all of those dogs! To bad there are so many strays where you live. What is wrong with people? Why do they still breed dogs? Why do some people still buy dogs? I got my 2 "mutts" at the pound. They are the "best" dogs ever! I HATE that some people buy dogs or cats! There is no reason to! Thank you for rescuing those dogs. That is so nice of you! :)

I'm so sorry that you lost your dear friend. Only you can decide what is best for you. if you want to persue any kind of reinburstment or whatever, but you are sadly right that it does not bring them back. my thoughts are with you.

Thanks guys-- I wasn't fishing for sympathy, just grousing about the lousy rottenness of the whole tainted food thing.  I hope that animal food practices improve as a result of the lawsuits... but I won't bet on it!

:)  Time's still short but I'll stick my nose in more often!

Yes, THANK you, Davedrum, that's a great list!
