A Wonderfully Refreshing (and healthy!) Smoothie

What you need:

unfiltered apple juice (enough to cover blades in blender)
1 frozen banana
frozen blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or cherries (or all of them combined!)
2-3 ice cubes
Spiru-Tein brand high protein energy powder- vanilla flavored
chunky almond butter - roasted and unsalted

What you do:

If you have a regular blender, put apple juice and banana in and blend on grate until most of banana is smooth. Then add other fruits and blend again until smooth. Then throw in ice and blend until smooth. Add 1 scoop of powder and blend for a second to mix thoroughly. Pour into glass and add a few spoonfuls of almond butter, and enjoy!
The key to a yummy smoothie is to blend until there are no chunks, and to make it really cold. The almond butter is a yummy addition and a good source of calcium and protein and the good kind of fat (it only has 1 gram of saturated fat for 2 tablespoons).
I have found these smoothies very filling and a good breakfast before going on your day. My body thanks me every time I feed it one of these smoothies, which is once and sometimes twice a day!
