Tomato Lentil Pasta Sauce

What you need: 

2 cups yellow lentils
2 28 oz. cans chopped tomatoes
1 5.5 0z can tomato paste
4 tablespoon vegetarian chicken-flavoured powder
4 cups water
2 chopped onions
1 chopped stalk of celery
2 chopped carrots
2 cloves finely chopped garlic
8 leaves fresh basil
freshly ground pepper to taste

What you do: 

Rinse the lentils and chop the vegetables. Put all of the ingredients in a large pot and boil for 20-30 minutes, or until the lentils are cooked. Time permitting, reduce heat and allow sauce to simmer for a few hours, letting the flavours blend nicely. Serve over warm pasta.
