Taco Seasoning

What you need:

1 tablespoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground red chili pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano (Mexican if available)
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
1/4 teaspoon chipotle chili pepper, optional

What you do:

1. Mix all spices together.
2. Add taco seasoning to taste, approximately 1 heaping tablespoon of taco seasoning per 1 cup of cooked food; such as textured vegetable protein or beans and rice. Stuff into toasted taco shells, tortillas etc. and enjoy!
Recipe can be made in bulk. Store in an airtight container and keep in a cool, dry place for up to a year. Spices don't spoil, they just lose their flavor over time.

This is just what I was looking for.  I still have some left for when I need a quick spice blend for tacos.  Now I do not have to worry about reading labels of the store bought packets.

you know it's funny, I submitted this recipe many months ago.  I'm really glad it's here now though b/c we moved and I lost my 'hard copy'.
