Multi Purpose Peanut Sauce

What you need:

2 1/2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 1/2 tablespoons almond butter
1/2 small lemon (juice only)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon maple syrup
2-3 garlic cloves minced (cooked unless you want the dip spicy)
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
1 1/2 teaspoons rice vinegar
1/4 cup water

What you do:

Mash all ingredients together, except water.
Slowly add water a few tablespoons at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
A really soupy mixture is great for adding over rice noodles or rice.
A less soupy mixture that clings to lettuce wraps, tofu, other appetizers for dipping.
Great over broccoli too.
Taste before serving. I find that the special ingredient that really sets it off in the right direction is the maple syrup. It really binds all the flavors together so you may want to add less or more depending on your preferences.
Enjoy!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This recipe is delicious and really easy, no cooking required! I use it on pasta and rice dishes all the time. Sometimes I use crunchy peanut butter. You have to put in twice as much, but the texture is really nice.

This was yum, pretty similar to others, but I like the addition of the almond butter. I'll make this again.

just finished a delicious bowl of this. i used broccoli, onion, mushrooms, and baby carrots. i stir-fryed all the veggies and plus seasame seeds.  i didnt have almond butter so i doubled the regular peanut butter and added cayenne pepper....this was so delicious and easy! ;)b

Oh my goodness.  This was perfect.  Thank you so much for the recipe, it was exactly what I wanted... I used ground ginger because I didn't have any fresh and I added just a tiny, tiny bit of cayenne.  I had it over brown rice, tofu, broccoli, green bell peppers and mushrooms.  Yum.  :)>>>

this is awesome! no seriously you don't understand how happy this recipe made me. i've been looking for a simple peanut sauce recipe for ages but i always find them too salty or bland. this is perfect. i never would've even thought about maple syrup but you're right, it works perfectly. thanks heaps!

Oh yeah, I used cashew butter instead of almond butter.  That was all I had but it turned out great!

Really delicious!  Made it for a quick lunch today over noodles with broccoli and asparagus.  I will definitely make it again. Thanks for the recipe!
