Happy (not Crabby) Rangoon

What you need:

2 tablespoons artichoke red pepper tapenade (I use Trader Joe's brand)
8 ounces vegan cream cheese (I use Tofutti yellow label)
1/2 teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon kelp granules, optional
50 vegan wonton wrappers
oil, as needed for frying

What you do:

1. Squeeze excess juices from tapenade and put the dry-ish mixture into a bowl with the cream cheese, sauces and kelp.
2. Mix well. Add a dollop of mixture onto each wonton wrapper, fold edges together sealing with water.
3. Heat oil, and deep fry or pan fry.
Serve with sweet chili sauce just like at your favorite Chinese take-out (I use Trader Joe's brand). The artichoke gives it that crabby texture, while the peppers give it that crabby color, while the kelp gives it that crabby taste!
I just made these for a wedding with 50 guests, most non-veg and they were a big hit! So, I want to share them with you all who deserve some vegan yum in your day today!

might want to try something else than worchestershire sauce.  It has anchovies in it.  Otherwise I will be trying these for sure!

Really GOOD! The only problem was that I ate too many! I didn't use Trader Joes spread, I used one from Whole Foods, also I used Braggs Aminos instead of soy sauce. Really delish! My fiancee and I were testing recipes to have for our reception and we think this one just made the cut! LOL even my cat has been at us trying to grab a nibble! 5 stars all the way!

i can never find vegan wontons. They always seem to have egg in them! Any ideas?

I use the Dynasty ones, as well... the Ralphs by my apartment always has them in stock, right next to the tofu.

These little "crab" rangoons ROCK! ;)b
I used to eat these by the bucketfull....I'm so happy I tried these!
I did change it a little due to what I had on hand....
Instead of the tapenade, I just threw a few artichoke hearts and roasted red pepper slivers in the food processor with the cream cheese....added a little soy sauce and sriracha
Fried the rangoons in a pan (I made them triangle shaped so they would be flat) and had duck sauce for a dipping....but I preferred them plain
We will definitely be making these a lot!
Thanks!

These are fantastic. Next time I'm going to stir in a little onion powder.
