SO HOW'D IT GO?

Awhh, I thought this was going to have fresh cherries in it!  Maybe I'll use cherries instead of the berries called for.  :)

Raw applesauce works fine, and yes, a blender will do.  I find the texture pleasing.

Here's a recipe from Sondra J. Stang's (omnivorous) cookbook The 3 Ingredient Cookbook (1985):

Instant Fresh Applesauce (Dessert, serves 2)

2 medium-sized tart apples
1/3 cup water
2 teaspoons sugar
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1. Core and slice the apples.  Do not peel.
2. Place the water in the blender jar and add half the apple slices and half the sugar.  Blend; then add the other half together with the cinnamon.
3.  Keep blending until all the peel is processed and you have a smooth and perfectly homogenized appearance.

I've made this for years, and I find it very tasty.  You don't really need the sugar, depending on the tartness of the apples and what you're using it for.

you could puree raw apples in the blender; they'd probably be more of a thick soupy consistency that apple-saucy, but i don't see why they wouldn't work in a smoothie. i like to make my smoothies totally raw too.

Can you get raw applesauce? For some reason I thought that the apples had to be cooked first.
