Biscuits

What you need: 

1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1/2 cups multi-grain flour
1 tablespoon flax meal
3 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes (or brewers yeast)
1/3 cup margarine or vegetable oil
3/4 cup soy or rice milk

What you do: 

In a medium bowl, mix flour, flax meal, baking powder, salt and nutritional yeast flakes together. With a fork, blend in margarine until mixture is crumbly. Stir in milk until well blended. Pat dough until 3/4 thick, cut with cookie cutter or top of wine glass and place close together on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes until golden brown on top. Serve hot.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

These were good for easy homemade biscuits but mine turned out more like cookies and I made 12 biscuits.    If you make about 8 they would probably be more biscuit like.

I loved these! I used all whole wheat flour, except for 1/2 cup organice white flour. I used no oil, replacing it with apple sauce. They were great! The whole family loved them!
