I made a pretty close version of this for a friend yesterday.  My modifications: no vegetable broth, quinoa instead of rice, pumpkin seeds instead of pecans, no scallion greens. 
Amazing.  I followed the recipe exactly except that I omitted the bay leaf and had to cook the stew for 45 minutes instead of 30.  Served over quinoa.  Yum!

Interesting idea... I've made this drink with plain or vanilla milk, but never chocolate. 
I made this last night only I used primavera pasta sauce and I added some lime juice.  My simple go-to meal at the moment.

Excellent.  I loved the unique combination of ingredients (ginger, lentils, pumpkin seed butter!!!).  My only modification was reducing the oil by half and replacing it with water.
