SO HOW'D IT GO?

Yummy! First time making waffles.....definitely too much water. I didn't read the other reviews and soon realized my misktake. I added more rolled oats and a bit of applesauce. I added cinnamon and might next time use soy milk as other people did for added nutrition. I love that there are only oats and no whole wheat flour.  I can see myself making extra and freezing it for a quick breakfast and adding in some other goodies.  Thanks!

I've been using this recipe for pancakes since I don't have a waffle iron.. works great :) I use less water as others suggested as well because it probably would be too thin (haven't tried the full amount yet), and though it is a heck of a mess a lot of the time - as I suck at making them - they're really tasty :D

But the only problem is I can't enjoy these wonderful creations now because our hand blender broke. It makes me cry at night.  :P

I decided to make these for my fiance on valentines so I made the batter the night before...the mixture was quite thick so I put them in my waffle iron anyway - it was like porridge encased in a crisp shell which my fiance quite liked.. but I thought with the second batch I'd add more water (and I get to have a taste!) and I think it made it easier to pour but turned out the same.. but they were lovely and healthier than the waffles I was used to making :)

I made the recipe as is, except I did 1/2 water and 1/2 rice milk.  I enjoyed them, though they are very "heavy," and quite filling.  I think I'm used to non-vegan waffles (this is my first experience with vegan cooking), and they were not sweet enough for me...maybe I'll add a bit more sugar to the batter, as I don't want to put a whole bottle of syrup on them (and ruin their wonderful nutritional qualties).

Very good!  So much more flavorful than other waffle recipes I have tried.  Instead of 2 cups of water, I did one cup vanilla soy milk and 1 cup water.  I also added some cinnamon and a little flour.  Delish!

had to tweak the recipe a lot!

AWESOME!  I read what the others said, so I halved the amount of water but the mixture was extremely thick! So I ended up adding more water anyways.  This was my first time making waffles and it will not be my last.  This recipe is outstanding!  I love how no oil is needed.  This is one of those "I can't believe it's vegan!" recipes.  I added carob chips to mine to give it a little extra sweetness, since I ate this for dessert.  Thanks for a remarkable recipe!  :D

stride4unity, I'm ready to bet it would work fantastically as pancakes too! if you're like most of us who had to add more flour or less liquid, I don't even think you need to change anything to the recipe to make it work as pancakes.

This recipe looks really scrumptious and I want to try it but I have no waffle maker!  If I add baking powder to this could it make pancakes?  ???
