Barbeque Popcorn

What you need:

2 teaspoons vegetable oill
4 tablespoons popping corn
1 1/2 tablespoons vegan margarine
1 1/2 teaspoons barbeque sauce
3 drops hot sauce, optional
pinch garlic powder
salt, to taste

What you do:

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. (Skip this step if you do not mind your popcorn a smidgen damp.) Heat at least a 2 quart sized pan on medium heat. Once heated, add oil. Add popping corn and cover the pan with a lid. (I leave the lid a little askew on top until the first kernel pops.)
2. Shake the pan as the corn pops. (I shake it about every 5-10 seconds.) Take the pan off the heat when you hear the popping coming to an end. Keep the lid on while you assemble the rest of the ingredients.
3. Place the butter in a bowl and microwave in 10 second increments. Stir the BBQ sauce into the butter. Add hot sauce, if using. Pour the mixture onto the popcorn, add the garlic powder and salt, to taste.
4. Hold the lid tightly and shake the pan in order to coat all of the popcorn. Taste and adjust flavors. If desired, spread the popcorn onto a baking sheet and put it into the oven for 10 minutes. By then it will have dried off and will be nice and crisp. Enjoy!
Source of recipe: I was watching a BBQ show on the food channel, and it inspired this recipe. It may very well exist already. Who knows?

I didn't have the patience to let it dry completely in the oven, but it was delicious, nonetheless. Thanks for the idea!!  ;)b

I have popcorn in the oven right now! I modified this recipe very little. I used mustard and oil to sub for the butter and added a little sriracha. I like spicy food! Smells great and looking forward to eating this! (Sometimes I think I could Live on popcorn!)
