Almost Whole Grain Bread

What you need:

1 cup water
1/3 cup vanilla soy milk
1 1/2 tablespoons margarine
1/3 cup (blackstrap) molasses
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups rolled oats (I use thick cut)
1/2 cup white flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 dash cinnamon
1/4 cup cup sunflower seeds (can do flaxseeds, as well)
1/2 teaspoon orange rind (tangerine is yummy too!)
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

What you do:

Place everything in the bread machine in the order instructed by the manufacturer. Select the basic setting with a light crust (whole wheat setting tends to burn the crust).

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I was not impressed with this bread, either. I appreciate the recipe sharing, and recognize that I could have screwed something up, but, like the person above, the dough was very wet and I had to add additional flour. The end result was a dense cake-like uneven loaf.

I was not impressed with this bread.  While it was very moist inside, it just didn't seem to have any flavor.  It's not inedible, it's just bland.  I had to add more flour, about half a cup.  Probably just due to differences in altitude or flour grind, I used stone ground.  I doubt that I will make this one again.

This bread was really delicious!  I decided to try this recipe because I bought some blackstrap molasses but had no idea how to use it.  I used plain soymilk because I didn't have vanilla and I added an extra 1/4 cup of wheat flour because my dough was a little too sticky.  It turned out great with a moist center and crispy crust.  I'll definitely make this again.
