Chik'n Strips

I bought Lightlife Chik'n Strips and I don't know how to cook them, what to cook them in nothing...

Help please my mom will be soooooooooo mad at me if I don't eat them since she bought them and they have been sitting in the fridge for a couple of weeks.

These are the ingredients:
Water, textured soy protein concentrate, natural flavors (from vegetable sources), less than 2% of: salt, barley malt extract, yeast extract, tapioca starch, onion powder, dextrose, garlic powder, annatto (color), paprika, potassium chloride, chicory fiber (inulin), natural smoke flavor. CONTAINS: SOY

i've used(and loved)  the morningstar chikn strips ever since i first saw them.  you can do so much with them.. saute them with your favorite stir fry stuff & cashews with a nice sauce, throw them into any rice dish.  i'll make those near east rice boxes and just add them to it.  or you can put them into a spinach salad with some strawberries, mandarin oranges and cashews.  they're good with veggies & pasta.. chop up with some veganaise and celery or grapes for a chickn salad sandwich...  you can pretty much do anything with them and put them into any recipe.

My mom bought those for me too. I just finished eating them, too. And will likely by them again now.

I tried them out in two different quick and simple dishes.

In one, I heated some strips(about half that came in the package), in a small skillet and doused them with a few drops of a teriyaki stir-fry sauce. I turned them over so both sides were well sauteed with the sauce. Then tossed in a salad of chopped lettuce, corn, chopped asparagus, sesame seeds, almond slivers and a poppy seed dressing.

In the other, I reheated in a microwave for about 45 seconds or until soft. Then threw them in a bowl, tore up the pieces with my fingers and stirred them up with chopped celery, sliced green onion, a little paprika, salt, pepper, a little mustard and generous dollops of Veganaise. Spread this mixture on toasted wheat bread slices for a chicken salad sandwich.

has anyone compared the taste of the litelife brand vs the morningstar?

ive had morningstar, just browned w/ poultry seasoning mix (i love love love it)...you can find it in the spice aisle. i'll dip em in ketchup, or get real fancy and put em in a wrap.

theyre pretty versatile...use in place of tofu in any recipe, really.

Agreed!  They are perfect for Mexican dishes: enchiladas, burritos, tacos..... :)

This weekend I'm going to experiment with using them to make unchicken fricassee!

Curried chik'n salad

Throw them in the toaster oven till they are browned; dice.
Mix with diced apples (with a little lemon juice to keep them from browning), crasins, pecans, diced celery, maybe some onion, veganaise, and curry powder.

Yummy on toast or crackers. and good enough to fool an omni.
