My first 5k!

Alright, so I'm running my first 5k ever tomorrow morning. Well, I was that is, until I went to register online and they said it was FULL! :( When I called and asked them why I was told that they had met the numbers they wanted. Also, that there were no more "goodie bags" of stuff to give out if additional people entered the race (ie: t-shirt). Well, I don't want those things! I want my full $30 to go to the charity that is hosting the race. I'm just going to show up early tomorrow morning and see if I can't get in. I have a friend that is running it and we were so looking forward to doing our first 5k together.
I do like having the shirt, but I hate it when they give you a bag full of junk that you probably won't use. It would be nice to have an opt out choice for goodies so that all of your money went to the charity. I could definitely live without the shirt-- they never fit me anyway!

I have a few shirts as well. I'd rather the money would go to the charity as well. Good Luck on your first 5k! Hey, they don't own the street, so no matter what....RUN! :)

So, I ran....and ran some more! Woohoo! I finished and actually had fun! I think I'm going to make a habit out of these 5k's. That is, unitl I am up for doing a 10k....and so on. ::) ;D 8)

congratulations! running is such, an incredible experience! our bodies are capable of doing such amazing things, especially if we care for them the proper way!
