Soo, I'm doing summer school PE and i am in big time need of new running mixes. If anyone's got any good ones to share, i'd love to listen. You can list songs, links, whateva, or if you know how to send them via AIM my screen name is: crushpeace. You should probably let me know on here if you want to send me a playlist, cause i never go on AIM haha.

Thanks, Kelsi! The music I play is called Hardcore/Gabber. It's like the black sheep of electronic music here in America. Except that it's huge in Holland, and the events featuring this kind of music draw crowds of over 10,000 people!

I know, right! There are hundreds (thousands?) of subgenres of electronic music. It is unreal! The same can be said for punk/hardcore

to continue the hijack: my ipod has been crapping out on me while running sometimes. just totally freezes mid-song and i can't do ANYthing to get that sucker up again in any way. can't even turn it off - just have to wait for the battery to die and then start all over.
this happen to anyone else? any ideas?
anyway, SoG, i listen to stuff with a consistent beat (for the most part) - that could be rock, hip hop, punk(ish), some electronic, whatever. i like bloc party, blackalicious, operation ivy, queens of the stone age, uh, trying to remember without my ipod in front of me...even if some bands are not all beat-oriented, i'll select the most thumping ones and omit the sappies for the workout sesh playlist.
SB: i'll check out your link when i'm not at work. i need some new exercise music (presuming my ipod quits being a butt). thanks for sharing!

You try resetting, right? Hold down menu+the center button at the same time til it goes off.

yep, but same as SoG, i can't get it unstuck. seriously frozen until the battery dies. ???

If I'm ever in a jam, I just use podrunner.com - have you checked it out? You can get different ones to suit your run, and they are F-R-E-E.
I just beat my personal best for the mile today listening to podrunner, if that means anything.
Also, of course, the iTunes Music Store has hundreds of running playlists. I usually check them out on iTunes and then get the actual songs from "other" places.

Oh ya, they piss me off to no end. I also have 2 other runner friends and their iPods ALWAYS give them problems like that.. especially when you start using stuff like Nike+ with it. The iPod I'm using now actually is a replacement because I was having such issues.
Apple's quality has really went down hill the last few years.
Arrrrgh!!!!!!! My ipod does that too!! It's so annyoying. The first time it happened I chalked it up to the fact that it was clipped to my shorts and dripping wet, 'cause I sweat profusely. But then the next time it was on my armband, and not wet at all.
I have some "playlists" meaning they are on my itunes, of stuff I like to run to. I can email them to you if you want or post them. But I don't know how to do that fancy posting them on the internet and linking stuff. And I'm borrowing my friends' computer, so it might take a few days.

I ran to this today! Great job! I liked how there were periods that were kinda mellow - they gave some nice breaks before going at it heavy again.
I have some swing revival bands listed at the end. I think they're awesome, because the beats are fast and upbeat.
