Goal Tracking Club

This thread is for people who formally want to track either one or two goals and hold themselves accountable to each other.  Research says that people who quantify and track their goals in a way that keeps them accountable lose up to twice as much weight.  :)

These can be any type of fitness/health goals, not just weight loss or the like.  It could be an amount of time spent working out, or drinking a certain amount of water each day, or losing a certain number of inches, for example.

Here's the chart I made, but I don't know why it's showing up so small.  Let me try to fix it....

i weighed in at 140. that isn't too bad - i was 132 in high school so in 11 years only put on a little. still wear the same size.

You're pretty tall though, right?  You seem tall in your pics! ;)

5'6" so not that tall. i was thinking i want my pants that are *snug* to fit looser. like i won't have to worry about them exploding or something. how's that for a goal?

I have two goals!

Goal 1: Work out 4 times a in a Monday through Sunday week.

Goal 2: Lose 2 pants sizes by April 1, 2010.  Starting size is 14 so goal is 10 for spring.

I guess I could measure my hips and use that as a goal but I have rewards for size changes that once I can buy and wear comfortably the goal size I can get my reward.  I have been working toward this goal for over a year and have only lost 1 size so far.  I just need to be accountable and work out regularly.

so I weighed myself today....60.8kg (or 134lbs), which is a little bit lost - although I'm not too sure how accurate that is, as I reall yhaven't done much to lose weight - I think it's probably just my natural variation.
Waist size is the same, unsurprisingly.

So I just weighed myself, and I came in at...

...drumroll...

153 pounds!

I imagine that most of this was me coming off of a bout of IBS--but it's still good to see. It's motivating (It's not something to expect every week).

KMK, can I add a second goal that's attending yoga 2x/week? I am spacing out on this goal and I need accountability!

This week will not be a loss for me.  The pregnancy boobs indicate that this is my week to be bloated.  I'm 130.  Not bad though.  I worked out hard and I know the loss will show up after I get my period.

12 miles this week... Short just 3 miles.  I'll make it up next week... it was just a little too cold all week and the last day I had (yesterday) to run was CRAZY!

I think I'm still at 138lbs... :( I think I'm going to have to cut my caloric intake more.

OK, thanks for posting your updates!  I'll fill in the table tomorrow.  I'm going to bed now!  :)

Ok, I am terrible and had a busy week at work so I haven't even thought about my goal much because I've been so pooped.

Here is what I am going to hold myself to (minimum!!! I know I am capable of more, but my problem is finding the time and motivation to do it, not the physical aspect)... 4 days a week 40+ minutes.

Also, I'd like to track my weight to see if my body composition changes when I get more muscles (I hope!). I weigh 120 right now and I know my waist is around 26 in.. But I don't know my other measurements. Will have to take them and get back to this. I doubt my waist would change anyway and really don't want it to. I should take my thigh and bicep measurements, though.

I am getting one of my wisdom teeth out today so I am hoping I won't be too knocked out by that (especially since I will still have to get one out).

i've been good about my goals. went to the gym tonight. we go about every other day, both days on the weekends. and i do my 40 minutes and i hate it a bit. but i've had fun doing the weight machines. i'm gonna be beefcake!

does anyone use sparkpeople? it has a lot of cool tools to keep track of stuff (fitness, foods, weight, measurements, etc). we could start a club

beeps, KMK mentioned it in the fitness thread - I've just signed up to it, but find it reaaaallly time consuming.  I do like it though.

This is good. I need to start exercising and I'm going to set a goal of exercising 3x a week for 30 min at a time.  I am going to try to just exercise in my apartment here because I don't have a gym membership and it's too cold and snowy to exercise outside.  I will buy a jump rope and do pushups and stuff. I'm not sure what else I can do, but I probably won't be able to do 30 min worth at first so I have some time to figure that out, I guess. Maybe I can buy a workout dvd.

i walked a lot today but that was basically it. but i did eat REALLY healthy. yay!! that's my biggest struggle. i can work out all the time and be fine, but eating healthy is the one thing that i've always had a hard time doing.

I start weight watchers on Tuesday, so I'll start tracking my weight loss in here with you guys - and my exercise regimens...I'm a little afraid to share my actual weight though....maybe I'll just tell you my goal and let you know how much I lose each week....

You're afraid to tell us a number, but not that your fart smelled like nutritional yeast? Silly!

Whenever I start going to the gym, I'm in. I weigh around 160, and want to be 145-150. ..but basically just more fit. I'll come back with something more concrete.
