Hello All!
I got a fantastic southern/cowboy inspired vegan cook-book for the holidays that I think others will get a kick out of.
It's called "Hot Damn & Hell Yeah!: recipes for hungry Banditos" by Ryan Splint and is filled with recipes like "Southern Fried Tofu", "Bourbon Whiskey BBQ Sauce" and other wonderful southern inspirations.
It's also a really fun read.
Enjoy!

Thanks....just ordered it! Looks like my type of cookbook  :o ;)

Ooooh, that's just up my alley.  I'll look into that as soon as I've re-nested (I'm packing!  Aieee!)

I found it, I found it! :o)
The ISBN # is: 0-9770557-0-1

I'm so happy you all are interested in this cookbook, I read it again last night and still have just about every page earmarked to try as soon as i have the time.

The back half of the book is a separate group of recipes called "The Dirty South Cookbook: eat more grease" by Vanessa. It's not quite as well edited or put together as Ryan's half of the book, but offers up some really yummy sounding comfort foods.

Happy cooking!

Hee hee hee.  Yes I did mean that but I was really tired wheen I posted.  I  even said SBRN number wrong.  Where I work, we deal with SBRN numbers (business numbers) and my mind went there.

Thank you, thank you - I've been out of the South about 10 years, but I will always be Southern!  Ordered this book - can't wait til it gets here!  It may be JUST the thing to interest my dh ;)  Who knows, maybe I can even surprise him with dinner and sneak it by that....hey, NO MEAT, lol.  Doubtful - he is a man who knows when there is no meat!!  The amazon reviews mentioned that nutrition is NOT important in the book, lol - sounds like true southern food to me!  THANK YOU!

Let me plug Heart of the Home by Ann Jackson again; it's southern cooking and it's so practical and good.  The cookbook isn't vegan but every recipe is vegan-izable without really modifying anything.  I warn you: it is imprecise and rambling, but I find that to be part of its charm.  If you have her Southern Vegetarian Cooking, you should know that I think it's pretty much the same book-- all the same recipes, some retitled.
