Movie Night!!

So my friends and I are working out a movie night at my house for sometime in the next couple of weeks (hopefully June Eight).

There will be, at most, 15 of us. Since it's at my house (hhhmmm...and 'cause I'm a foodie who loves to cook) I offered to work out the food stuffs. I want to do something past the regular ol' popcorn, chips, pop and trail mix. I need stuffs that are inexpensive and relatively easy to make. I was thinking homemade pizza or maybe some vegan mac...but, I don't know.

Anyone have any good suggestions? Finger-foods or bigger things we can eat on a plate are cool. Even a really super awesome amazing trail-mix recipe works...I guess I'm just looking for something different. I'm still going to swing it with the popcorn and some juice/pop/water because I know people will enjoy that part but I want to do something gooooooooood, ya know? Sooo, what are you favourite homemade movie treats?

Thanks!!
Warmth.

Do a dip night. Serve different kinds of spreads like an artichoke dip with breadsticks.

The Italian stuffed mushroom recipe in the Betty Crocker cookbook online is pretty good. I would even say out of this world.

Hummus, tapenade...good dips like that, with raw veggies (radishes, carrot sticks, celery, whatever) for dipping. Make a pretty arrangement platter and feed your soul too.

We love Roasted Chickpeas during movies and for snacking! There are a few good recipes on this site! I like mine with balsamic and salt. Mmmm! My husband like to curry his up.
Napkins needed though...

I can't find the recipe to link to it but it's basically:

Chickpeas drained and rinsed, pat dry a bit... put on a cookie sheet
oil
seasonings
shake around and bake at like 350-400 for 30 minutes.... i like mine soft so i take them out but if you leave them in longer they actually get crunchy like chips.

I just had nachos the other night....I used leftover taco "meat" which was cut up gardenburgers cooked with taco seasongs & I added some vegan cheese (some cheddar & some cream cheese) & reheated those & mixed them together. then put it on a plate with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, whatever & scoop up with tortilla chips. Whole foods has these organic white corn cilantro lime flavor chips that are really good.

Roasted chickpeas are yummy.  English muffin pizzas would be a fun and easy idea, too.  And what about spring rolls?

what about big poofy soft pretzels and some sort of faux cheese dipping sauce?

Definitely have Dragonflys uncheese as the queso mix and dip some tortilla chips in it.

And of course, your favourite hummus with veggies and pitas for dipping.

Sorry, but what's tapenade???

Tapenade is a dip made of black olives. This is the simple version, very faithful to the French original:http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=6954.0 The original has garlic in it, of course!!  There are many versions on VegWeb, just put "tapenade" in the search box and it will pull up about half a dozen.
