In memory of Isleta Isabela...

Hi Guys,

It was one year ago today that my beautiful sweet Isabela died in my arms.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of my dear sweet Isabela.  In less than a hour when it is June 1st in Cozumel, I will make a donation to the Cozumel Humane Society in memory of Isabela.

I never thought a dog could enrich my life like she did.

Her gentleness, sweetness and love of life will always be remembered.

She made me happy and the many she visited at the nursing home.  She made kids who were afraid of dogs, not afraid.  She truly was a blessing.

I miss her more than life itself but I am blessed that she allowed me to let Cali into my heart.  I only wish I could have shared my home with them both together.  It is easy to say we will never get another dog.  I made a promise to Isabela that I would rescue another.  Although Cali is a hand full and trying, she is what Isabela would have wanted to be if she could have shared her life with someone as a puppy.  She never got the opportunity.

If she was here as an adult, she might have taught Cali not to eats shoes, furniture, everything in sight........

Cali is the heart and soul of Isabela as a pup.

May my dear sweet Isabela rest in peace.  As soon as it is June 1st in Cozumel, I will make a donation to the Cozumel Humane Society in her memory and honour.

She was everything one would want in a companion dog.  She was everything!

One day, I will stop mourning her loss and cherish the memories.  Right now, it seems like only yesterday that she shared my home and my life.  I loved her so much.

Who would have thought a starving street dog from Mexico could touch the hearts of so many.  Who would have thought that she would touch my heart in the way she did.

Who would have thought that one year after her passing, I still miss her as much as I did one year ago.

God Bless you Isabela.  You were everything to me.  You made me laugh, you made me smile and you made me realize the importance of rescuing a dog in need.

Regardless of country.

Like they say, 'You can't save every animal in the world but, for the one you do save, it IS the world!'

To all of you that loved Isabela, please hug your pets extra special today and for those of you without pets, please hug Isabela.

She was the best!

Hugs to you all!

Di and the remaining 10 furred and feathered

Anyway, just wanted to share.  Today is a very sad day for me.  The day Isabela died, my second cousin Duncan in Scotland passed away.  Kind of takes away from the fact that it is Biko's (my parrots) 17th birthday today.  None the less, I will spoil him rotten!

Di

Hugs to you and Cali and the rest of your furred and feathered. How wonderful memories are! Isabela will always be with you even if she can't be physically.

How wonderful memories are!

I'm sorry today is such a painful day for you.  A donation to the Humane Society is a wonderful way to honor Isabela's life.

So glad you have all these great memories of Isabela. I'm sure you touched her heart just as she obviously touched yours. It's an amazing thing the bond we can have with these animals is it not? It's even more amazing when you save them and rescue them. Somehow they know you saved their life. I truly believe that. It makes the bond that much stronger. Enjoy Cali, and enjoy your memories of your beloved Isabela.

Isn't it wonderful to have shared such a strong love with another being?
Love is so special. Cali is lucky to have a mama with such a great capacity to love!
