A lot of you seem to be more concerned with being lied to than ThiChef Lindsay's involvement in animal breeding, exploitation and killing.

we should start a thread where people make up stories about other people's "real" identities.
I think you and I and Y coincided in the chat room once and I told her the "back story" I had made up in my head about her...got one or two things right and the rest all wrong!
On another website where I used to post alot, someone told me they saw me as "tall and willowy with long wavy hair." Don't I wish....I'm certainly not willowy. More oak-y. And I don't have the patience for long hair, which to be pretty has to be groomed and looked after like a companion animal.

I'm as I guess "disappointed" as everyone else is that those recipes didn't come straight from her brain to us (especially since I made a few of them and were raving to my guests about "her" recipes)...but honestly, don't you think maybe its time to put this to rest? I mean, yea, it wasn't the most honest thing in the world to do, but did you ever think that maybe she really didn't mean any harm by it? Maybe I'm just too forgiving or something, but that email that AllyChristine posted from her seems to be sincere. Don't get mad at me...I just think that the problem was confronted, she apologized, and left VegWeb along with those pics and recipes. All we can do at this point is hope she learned from this. We all have done things in our life we're not proud of, right? I dunno...it just seems to me that we're beating a dead horse here, that's all. This whole thread should just be deleted cuz its not even relevent to us anymore.

This is the most drama vegweb has seen in... a while. I think it's just rattled our nerves a bit, brought out the gossips in us, and made many honestly angry. And by the way, no one's beating a dead horse. Even if the horse's dead, that's totally not a vegan thing to do.

Rest assured, I am a talking shroom. I spend all my time in one place, which by my preference should be dark and damp, thought it seldom is. I only appear outdoors after the rain. If you want to see me, you have to come to me as my feet are firmly dug in my spot. And as per my avatar, I read an awful lot!

as always...i agree w/ bp. when someone posts for the very first time, doesn't have a profile, and it's "controversial" (at least to us vw'ers), then yes, i'm inclined to think it's someone posting as someone else.

Yea, I guess in a sense I'm new. I've been coming to this site religiously for years for all the great recipes (obviously hehe). I actually didn't even know there was a message board or forums or anything because I have always just looked at recipes. and i came the other day actually looking for one of "her" recipes and noticed they were gone so I typed her name into the search and this whole thread came up so i've been kind of following it since then and just decided to sign up so i could say my piece, so to speak. anywho though, thats that! :)

i remember on an old message board that i went to, people would make up fake users like "George W. Bush" and everything that they said would be something ridiculous that GW would say. i always liked those fake posters. they were funny. and then there were random names like "asshole" and everything that they would say would be the most assholey thing to say.

Now that I've discovered this little spot for chit chat :), does anyone know of or have a good recipe for a vegan peanut butter pie? Just plain peanut butter, no chocolate. Everything I've come across has melted chocolate in it!! Not that there's anything wrong with chocolate, don't get me wrong...its just for what i want to do i need strictly pb.
