You are here

I made that!! The official sharing/bragging thread.

We all seem to talk about and (sometimes) post pictures of our creations. Well here I am to call you all out!!  8-)

I want to see what you've cooked, sewn, painted, drawn, written (well, maybe a link to this one, if it is long), what-have-you! Even if you think it is horrible, we (or rather, I) WANT to see it!!

I'll start it off with my first adventure into the art of gluten free baking.

http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs153.snc1/5688_136809863697_563808697_3293594_6807462_n.jpg

Its not the greatest, by any means, I heavily modified an old betty crocker recipe to the point where I think no one would recognize it.... 3 layer Banana Coconut gluten free vegan pirate ship cake with gluten free vegan banana cream and chocolate banana cream frostings. I still have to work on making the densities more 'uniform'/no breakage or cracking....

You don't know how much fun that sounds to me.  I love building things.  If I had a garage, I'd have the sweetest workshop evah.

I had 6 days off during the Thanksgiving holidays and this is what I did:

Quilt Top #3

Quilt Top #4

Quilt #3 is for my smexy chaplain who has a fondness for the color green.  Quilt #4 is the result of having too much leftover green fabric from quilt #3.  I still have to get batting and backing for both, which I will do this week.  I guess they are both technically lap quilts, but over-sized ones.

Whoa storm! Those are so pretty, I'm impressed.

Thank you!  I have two more I'm starting to piece, but my focus is getting these two completed first.  Otherwise I'll end up buried in half finished quilts.

I just saw this http://www.boingboing.net/woodpile.jpg
and it made me think of you, hh. Next time, hh. Next time  ;)

I still need to add some screws, put on doors, paint/stain it, and do the final touches to my now enclosed firewood racks (the black tubular parts), but it beats my neighbors looking at the racks covered with plastic tarps held down with rope displaying a plethora of truckers' hitches.  (Please excuse the construction debris.)  I've now moved the wood a few times in a month's time and taken away the tarps.  The spiders that live amongst the firewood are very likely frazzled.

Seriously, though, you have an impressive rack.

Classic!  Until I've achieved that level of wood pile awesomeness my life won't be complete.

I showed it to my dad and he got all technical with, "It's obviously a saw cut, why do they have an ax in the trunk?"  ::)  Not entirely the point, Dad.

Haha, oh dads. Had you seen this before? I showed it to my parents too and they loved it.

This is an amazing thread, I love it, and am hoping beyond hope that you talented people will post more photos of what you've made.  It's 2011, folks, time for a whole new year of craft work...or whatever you do.

I do a lot of stuff, and none of it very well, but i have a lot of fun doing it, and that's what counts, right?  I don't have any way to show photos, show, so I'll try to tell you in words what I've done lately.

I decorated the cover of my 2011 journal with words cut from a MORE magazine offer:  ACT YOUR AGE.  WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WHEN YOU GROW UP?....mind you, I'm grown...and over 60, lol.  Feathers to symbolize my flight thru life, keys to show that the keys to my life are in the journal, a picture of a fuzzy stuffed rabbit to show that I do NOT want to grow up, and he's surrounded by pearls and gold to show what I DO want, lol.  Looks really good, pardon my brag!!!

Spray painted two small, square cigar boxes black, pasted strips of silver paper around them, photos on the inside lids:  One of an old Victorian age kitchen from a rich man's kitchen, on the box with the label "SAVORIES," and a picture of a coffee cake with cup of coffee on the box with the label "SWEETS."  They will sit on my counter to hold recipes I want to try and don't want to get lost in the piles on my desk.

More pictures, please.

Here's a couple things I've made.  I used to have a website/store, but I got bored with it, because it ended up being more work then fun.

Here's the trees I painted.  The pink flowery tree isn't finished, I hate heights, and that's about 10 feet up in the air... and the other is my birch tree mural in my room.

The cupcake apron I finished up yesterday for my daughter.  The poodle skirt I made last year for a play she was in (Bye Bye Birdie).
