I vote for iced tea with lemon (unsweet tea)
Or plain lime juice and VERY cold water...no sugar.
If you ever see Barry's Irish Tea--get some. Quite simply the best tea on earth AND they do decaf.
I'm with you, Yabbit. Unsweetened iced tea with lemon.
For me it's ice cold, pure, unadulterated WATER. Can't beat it on a miserable hot and humid day!! Gotta be COLD though.
;D
gewurtztraminer. so sweet and refreshing when it's nice and chilled. wonder if i can find a vegan one?

Wow that is exactly my taste! I hate sweetened teas! And I like to make lemonade without sugar
I also LOVE ice cold, ICE water with Lemon too but as you know yabbit.... no ICE for us here!!!!!! :(
If I even suggest buying ice at the American store DH always manages to 'forget it' at the last minute. He thinks buying ice is a silly American thing and I should rough it. Boo...
Yay for unsweetened iced tea!
Also, I crave margaritas and chips 'n salsa when it's hot--probably from a loss of salt from sweating in the Phoenix heat (I think it's supposed to be 115 today...why do I live here, again?). Margaritas are seriously the only alcoholic beverage I like, probably because they don't taste like alcohol and they're just so darn good!

The winters, maybe?

We've just started getting those plastic cube-bags here, that you fill with water. I like them because they don't drip all over and the cubes don't smell like the inside of a fridge. I know, ice is "bad" for you because (and goodness knows I quote) "it will give you tonsilitis" (Spanish conventional wisdom). But I like to live on the edge!! :D
Tazo Brand Passion iced tea - either at Starbucks or I make it myself (if I get myself to a Whole Foods to buy the tea bags - that's the only place I've ever found them!)
One of my favorite drinks is flavored selter.
UNSWEETENED ICED TEA (many varieties)
Even though water is my summer staple, how could I have forgotten a nice chilled sangria with lovely chunks of fruit??? That sounds so good right now, especially after work today!
Iced mint tea. I boil a pot of mint leaves, sweeten in lightly with turbinado sugar, then pour it into a pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator.
Sounds refreshing, Saskia! I may just have to get some mint now.
Water! (How dull am I?) ;)

ooooh how could i forget iced mint tea? i can think of nothing more refreshing!!
been making "sweet tea" from a recipe I found on line. I do not, however, make mine that sweet. I want to drink it, not stand a spoon up in it.
Homemade agua fresca (subbing agave for the sugar)
I've heard of agua fresca, what's in it?

Nothing quenches my thirst like water. I drink water almost exclusively these days--so I must be super dull! ;)
Thanks MDV. I love Galia melon with lime juice squeezed on it, so the "agua de melon" looks like a good thing to try!
Ice cold water. I also like mixing unsweetened iced tea and lemonade together (half of each). Good stuff!
