VegWeb Potluck! - Success
Hi folks, after seeing all the New Englanders in owalkerjillo's Where are we all from thread: http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=18335.0, I thought - you know what we need? We need a potluck!
So how about it Massachusetts, New Hampshire Rhode Island folks? If you want to pick a date (probably a Saturday late morning). And a place (something public and outdoors - apple picking perhaps), then email eval(unescape('%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%76%65%67%77%65%62%2e%70%6f%74%6c%75%63%6b%2e%6e%65%77%65%6e%67%6c%61%6e%64%40%67%6d%61%69%6c%2e%63%6f%6d%22%3e%76%65%67%77%65%62%2e%70%6f%74%6c%75%63%6b%2e%6e%65%77%65%6e%67%6c%61%6e%64%40%67%6d%61%69%6c%2e%63%6f%6d%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b'))
Ta da! We'll take pics of our AWESOME food and report back! :)
Edit: for a report on the fun, see page 3!
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT! >:(
Cam - are you going to singlehandly foil any chance of me meeting the lovely mr/ms BP?! :(
Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it either. It is parent's weekend. So I'll be doing family stuff all weekend.
I knew this would happen! I'm never planning anything in advance. Bah :(
<insert bad mood here>
Yay! :D

y'know, there is another vegan potluck in Florence at 530pm on sun.... perhaps i will have to stop off at that one on my way home! :D
im such a potluck slut. :-*
Oh man, this is going to be fun! I'm officially RSVP'ing for myself + one guest. I talked my friend into coming with. She just went veg (90% vegan from full on omni) two months ago after reading Skinny Bitch (a certain pro-veg friend, who shall remain nameless ::) 8) suggested she read it) so this will be her very first veg potluck!! Yay!
See you guys on Sunday at noon!!
;D :D

LA - you would be like..like...some kind of vegan Goddess if you spent Sunday vegan potluck-hopping. I'd make some sort of shrine to you! (An edible one of course)
And Ring o' fire - there are plenty of veggies in Ohio! Just not so many humans... ;D I couldn't resist :) How far are you from Yellow Springs, I bet they got them some vegans.
There will be a number of us there in spirit if not in body. I must confess to being a bit jealous that CeltKat will get to meet you all. Happy for her, sad for me. Much, much fun, all you guys!!! :)
Aw man, I just saw this thread for the first time. I still consider myself a Rhode Island girl even though I live in Florida. I'll be up there in December...can we plan another one for then????
I'm so jealous that all these cool folks are having a fun vegan potluck right now. :(
I wish I were an Easterner.
Wow! I just got back and couldn't wait to report on the magnificance! The weather cooperated, the bees visited, Central Mass had beautiful scenery, the apples were crispy, and the food....ohhhhh. It was good.
BP and Cam arrived early and were starting to wonder if everyone else stood them up, so they ate some of Cam's banana bread! Luckily, we started to show up before they could get into BP's cupcakes with chocolate mousse topping! Cam also made pita pockets with home-made black bean hummus, spinach, avocado and a surprise kalamata olive in the middle! BP invented a brown rice, garbanzo, currant salad too!
CeltKat brought a pasta salad with peas from a recipe from Bookmama - so it's as if she was there! She also had these adorable sweet potato rolls, and a newly vegetarian friend who I think was impressed by the bounty!
Per a claim in the giganto zucchini thread, I brought chocolate zucchini cake, Caribbean Surprise from the vegweb potluck recipes section, and somebody's pumpkin casserole from the Iron Chef contest.
LucidAnne brought the most though! A tablecloth, flowers, savory lentil stew with cornbread, lemon tea cookies, hot tea, cherry tomatoes from her garden, and two kinds of TRUFFLES :o
It was totally like the coolest vegan feast EVER! And the very coolest part is that in my fridge right now, are awesome home-made leftovers from vegwebbers' kitchens' to mine. ::) Thanks you guys!
Sooooooooo......photos will be forthcoming, right?
OH MY GOD THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!!!!
That sounds like so much fun. I am really jealous. Anyone from the southeast wanna have a potluck? :)

But of course - I'm the only one who didn't bring a camera ('cause I'm old school and dropped mine off to have the film developed yesterday). Cam even took some video of the people, food, and apple picking, and BP promises to edit them into a groovy movie.
So sad I couldn't make it. :'( I was watching hours of cross country regional fun!! ::) (my son runs cross country for his school) I kept thinking of all the vegweb fun. Can't wait to see the video. The food sounds great!!!
ahhhh, so jealous. i'm going to see if any norcal-ers are down...
Oh, I am so bummed out now. I never knew about this pot luck and I live right in Central MA :( I wish I had know about this, it would have been so much fun to meet other veggies. There don't seem to be that many around here. I posted a thread about 6 or 7 months ago asking if there were any veggies in MA and never got a reply :'(
Glad to hear you all had fun and yummy food!

Yes, let's do it!
Although the anonymity of vegweb is quite comforting to me! 8)
