potluck jealousy, anyone down for a bay area/central coast adventure?

sooo, the new england potluck thread is driving me nuts. just testing the potention for hosting one in my neck'o'th'woods. i know of only a couple members near here, but nonetheless i am wondering wondering if anyone would be interested in a little foodie gathering? i am in santa cruz, and wouldn't mind hosting at a park here. but i would also be down to travel a little. if anyone has ideas pitch in!
what would be a good time... (strokes non-existent beard)? everyone post ideas on a good weekend and location. i am on my lunch break right now at work, so i will spend more time on this when i get home.
um, i would say we should probably figure some stuff out off the public thread?! we don't want creepsters invading our potluck. i would say just far enough in advance so i can ask for the time off of work. and preferably a saturday because i think that would be easiest transportation-wise.

I just hope I'll be able to get there. I'm quite car-less and in the middle of nowhere (there are 2 people I have encountered whom I haven't had to tell where and what Merced is).

good. i got your guys' emails. i am super busy right now but maybe tonight i will send one out to everyone and tell what we've got (though it isn't much). keep the emails coming, i know i at least haven't gotten one from secondbase or faunnablues.

Maybe a SoCal potluck in the future...?
I live in Las Vegas and would be willing to make the 4-5 hour drive for a So Cal potluck (Bay area is just a bit too far unfortunately) in the future.

Oh! I did the first email, but I petered out in the e-mail planning phase... very sorry, things just got hectic! My dad will be visiting at the end of this month, so it would be preferable for me to do this after the first week of November sometime. I have itsy bitsy commute to SLO (30 minutes?) so almost any weekend time is great.

Boo, I just canceled a trip to CA for Oct-Dec! So I probably won't be there. :(
BUT, If I'm in CA visiting (Mom's in LA, Dad in Sac, Grandparents in Yosemite) at the time of a planned potluck... I'd travel anywhere in my favorite state to come to a get-together with other CA vegwebbers!
