NVR - I want to get a kitten but...

I have 2 cats. One is 8 y.o., calm and sweet. The other is 4 y.o., active but aggressively playful. He pounces on the other cat and people. He means well but quite frankly he bites - HARD. I know my older cat will be fine with a kitten but what about the younger one? I'm afraid to come home to a battered kitten. Does anyone have experience with this? Might it work out ok? :-\
My cat bites me hard, too! I got him a BFF and now he bites her instead of everyone else who comes into my house. I love my cat, but he shows some discretion when playing with the smaller kitty. I wouldn't worry about it :)

Thanks secondbase! That was a quick reply :D
I guess I shouldn't worry too much.
Don't be surprised if he wants to be extra frisky with the new kitten. The kitten may even make noises like she is getting hurt but it's all in fun and games. I used to run to the kitten's rescue, but the second I pulled them apart, the kitten was going back for more! Let them play and have fun. He'll stop biting you as much when he has a new friend to play with.
Hehehe. Maybe I'll seriously consider it now. The 4 year old is the kind that never tires from playing and I'm sure a kitten is just the type of playmate he needs. Now I just have to clear it with my roommate. I live in New York where the apartments are pretty small. I really want a kitten though. The two that I have now are rescues that I got as adults.
