SO HOW'D IT GO?

My hummus came out tasty, but I had to veer pretty far away from the recipe.  I used only 1 1/2 tsp, not Tbsp, cumin, and kept everything else the same, but it was so dry and chunky.  Was I not supposed to drain the can of chickpeas first?  I ended up adding lemon juice and olive oil until I had about 4 Tbsp of each, and then it was much closer to the creamy (but still thick) texture of hummus that I'm used to.  It's delicious, but not nearly as healthy as I thought it would be!

Good recipe for basic hummus. I finally bought myself a food processor. I have been meaning to  by one for the last ten years, but somehow never did. Hummus making at it's easiest. I added the juice of a whole lemon, because I like mine lemony.

This is the perfect hummus recipe. I added jalapenos for a little burn, which tastes awesome with blue corn chips.

I think chickpeas are my favorite legume,l so I am always looking for new ways to prepare them.  I tried this and had to make some changes.  First, I used 2 cans of beans, the proportion  of cumin and garlic seemed to suit this amount better.  I increased the tahini to 3+ Tblspns.  I also increased the lemon (or lime) juice to 1 Tblspn.  Salt to taste.  Also, added pinch of cayenne pepper.  Home baked, crispy pita chips (Ezekial brand) and yummo! :D
