Tomato Rice

What you need: 

1 Onion
5 cloves
5 cardamom (Elaichi)
1 inch piece cinnamon
4 to 5 medium size tomatoes
1.5 teaspoon chilli powder
coriander leaves for garnishing
oil for frying (2 spoons)
salt for taste
3 cups rice (preferably basmati)

What you do: 

Put oil in a frying pan. When it is hot, add cloves, cardomom and cinnamon. Fry for a minute. Add onions (sliced) and fry until it becomes golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes. Add chilli powder and salt. Fry until the gravy becomes thick (At this time, all the water in the added tomatoes will be almost drained). Cook rice in a rice cooker. Mix the rice with the gravy prepared. Garnish with coriander leaves and cashew nuts, if you want.
