Maple Creams

What you need: 

Cookies: 2 cup flour
pinch of salt
1 1/2 sticks shortening
1 tablespoon imitation butter flavor
3/4 cup maple syrup
1 1/2 tablespoon Ener-G mixed with 2 tablespoon tepid water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts and pecansFrosting: 1 cup 10x sugar
4 tablespoon shortening
pinch of salt
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon imitation butter flavor
1/4 cup maple syrup

What you do: 

To prepare cookies, mix flour and salt; set aside. In large bowl combine remaining cookie ingredients in order listed, mixing well. Add flour mixture, then nuts (add a bit more flour to achieve necessary consistency). Shape mixture into small balls and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 6 minutes; cool on rack.

to smags:
1 1/2 t powder to 2 T water is the normal Ener-G egg. Probably the author's mistake... though it may be intentional, too. Try it with the normal and see how it looks?

Is it meant to be 2 TBSP(!) of water added to 1.5 Tbsp of Ener-G? I think maybe 2 tsps? Anyone know? I want to try this recipe, but I don't want to waste ingredients...thanks!
