Makes-Kids-Happy Simple Peanut Sauce

What you need:

1/4 cup plain peanut or other nut butter
2 tablespoons nondairy milk
1 tablespoon maple syrup or molasses
1 teaspoon soy sauce

What you do:

1. Mix ingredients together in a cup or bowl (or have your kid do it!), adjusting liquid amounts as necessary.
2. Pour over grains, pasta, potatoes, veggies, etc., or even add to vegan yogurt.
Can easily be doubled or tripled and stores for at least a couple weeks in the fridge. Kids love this just like this, adults tend to like it more a little spiced up with the addition of hot sauce or red pepper flakes, rice vinegar, sesame oil and crushed garlic.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I just wanted to say that you should talk to your child's dr. about peanut butter.  Our kid's dr. said it was OK between 15-18 months because we have no history of allergies.  Be careful, but not every doctor agrees with waiting until 3 for everyone.

Just wanted to let you Moms know that it is extremely dangerous to feed children peanut butter under the age of 2 years old.  Any doctor will recommend against it.  I even suggest parent wait til their child is 3 years old.  The same goes for honey and eggs...Please look into this for the safety of your loved little ones!  You can make this same recipe with almond or cashew butter instead!

i have the pickiest 17 month old ever and she is actually eating this sauce over spaghetti noodles. she wont even eat peanut butter sandwiches but she is gobbling this down. i used molasses which kind of added a strong flavor but she doesn't mind. i used a lot more rice milk to get a thinner sauce and added a little bit of garlic powder. after i served hers i added LOTS of garlic, Cayenne pepper, chili powder and more Bragg's(i used Bragg's instead of soy sauce) and this turned out to be a great peanut sauce.  i will definitely make this again.
