Just Snackin'

What you need:

1 1/2 cups of oats
2-3 tablespoons of all fruit jelly (I use apricot)
2-3 tablespoons nut butter (I use cashew butter)
1 tablespoon substitute butter (optional)

What you do:

If you use butter, soften it in the microwave for a few seconds. Then put all ingredients in a bowl and mix them up.
Dig in!
I was ravaging the shelves one day, and I couldn't find much, so I threw all these things together and walla! It makes a fast and easy snack, and it's quite scrumpcious too!

Just made a batch, didn't have jelly so I used red raspberry preserves. Was yummy, thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe. Will make more for camping/hiking trips. Thanks again!!

wayneshep, I imagine PB would be great in this recipe!

creamy, crunchy, or that creamy-crunchy combo You get with the fresh-ground stuff at the health food store...peanuts make a yummy nut butter, any variety of which would work just as well here.

Would peanut butter be an acceptable substitute for nut butter?

I just bought some raw cashews , gonna have to make some butter out of them. Also was able to pick up some vegan butter as well. Will try this recipe for sure.
