What you need:

1 cup raw unhulled Sesame Seeds
1/2 tablespoon Fine Organic Sea Salt

What you do:

This is a very simple condiment from Japan used in place of salt. The result is a nice nutty seasoning with a little bit of crunch to add texture to your favoutite meals!
Toast sesame seeds in a dry wok or frying pan over medium heat untill golden brown.
Lightly grind toasted seeds with a mortar and pestle, or if you're electrically-inclined use a spice-grinder or blender. Grind gently, the result should be to just crack the seeds and make the mixture mealy, do NOT to grind them into a powder.
Mix salt with ground seeds. Sprinkle over stir-fried veggies, rice, potatoes, salad. Anywhere you'd like seasoning.
Powdered kelp may be added for extra flavour and nutrients, but this is not traditionally included.
