Effortless Steelcut Oatmeal

What you need:

1 cup steel cut oats
4 cups water
dried fruit, to taste, optional

What you do:

1. Put the oats in the crock pot with water.
2. Add some dried fruit, if desired.
3. Let it cook overnight and you will have delicious oatmeal in the morning.
Much better than little packages of microwaved oatmeal.

Preparation Time:
1 minute

Servings:

SO HOW'D IT GO?

Steel cut oats are just cut and not rolled.  Rolled oats are "normal" oats.  Rolled oats are somehow heated and squished llowing them to cook much faster.  Usually u hafta cook steel cut for about 45 minutes, making them annoying for everday breakfast.  If u have a crockpot and dont need to worry about burning your house down from cooking all night, they become much esier to make.  This is a great idea

We tried this recipe this morning and I was totally impressed. Not to mention it was totally wonderful waking up to fresh oatmeal, with absolutely no work!!! I think it tastes better than regular rolled oats too. :D I just added some fresh fruit when I was ready to eat... yummy!  ;D
