Easy 'n Fat Free Rice Cooker Tumeric Rice
What you need:
3 cups brown rice
2 teaspoons turmeric
1 cup raisins
1/2 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans or 1 cup pre-cooked garbanzo beans
What you do:
1. Add brown rice to a rice cooker. Fill rice cooker with water to the 4 cup mark for al dente, plus a little more water for the raisins to absorb. (Also, add a little more water if you like soft sticky rice.)
2. Stir in turmeric, followed by raisins and garbanzo beans.
3. Cook according to rice cooker instructions.

Thanks, I hope you like it. It is also good with black beans, pinto beans – or you could try your favorite bean –whatever that is.
I have always been a black bean type person. At the time I wrote the recipe, I was experimenting with several types of beans – but later found that the variety didn’t agree with me. So, I have gone back to using black beans more in my cooking lately.
