SO HOW'D IT GO?

This recipe was FANTASTIC!!!! The only addition I made were chocolate chunks (vegan, of course) on top of the cake pre-baking.
Then for an icing, I made a cocoa/cinnamon icing and spread on the cake while still warm...oh my goodness! Let me just say that this cake only lasted 2 days in a house with just 2 people. :)
My only recommendation is to make this cake by hand and to NOT overmix. Mix JUST until all ingredients are blended. That will help with the texture a LOT.

this cake has a very odd texture and mine started to burn after about 35min in the oven. not a fan of this one, but my dad seems to like it.  :P

Fantastic. I went with flax seed and doubled it to a quarter cup. The cake was a bit undercooked so it stayed super gooey, but that didn't take away from the flavor at all.

Excellent Cake.  I am a cake lover and this is so good.  I used dark cocoa, 1/2 whole wheat flour and grounded flax seed for the egg.  This will be a regular cake for me.

very easy to make and tastes deeeelicious. definitely on a verge of a spice cake, as someone else said. i added 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and made some icing from another recipe on the site because it needed a bit more sugar and chocolate taste to me. but still, yum!

This was a great cake. I decided to halve the recipe. Seems more like a spice cake than a chocolate cake....I may add some more cocoa powder next time. But nice, dense, and very very enjoyable.

I added an extra tblsp. of cocoa, I don't think it needed it though.
I also put in chopped pecans, slices of apple and a tsp of vanilla extract because I put some in everything.

The whole cake is about 2000 cals
So each slice is about 100 cals.

Really good!  I halved the recipe and used half whole wheat flour and half regular and the cake was still very light.  This is  good served warm with fresh strawberries.

Good cake! Mine I messed up a bit cause I put 3 tsp instead of 3 tbsp of cocoa, so I made a chocolate icing and put it on top. As well, I put slivered almonds in the batter. Came out well in the end. Odd texture though, it was like rubbery and moist at the same time.

And I'll assume in the directions, you mean to sprinkle it with topping after you cook it, not before.
