Cinnamon Roll Quick Fix

What you need:

any kind of bread (white works best)
1 tablespoon vegan buttery spread
3-6 tablespoon soymilk
cinnamon
sugar

What you do:

1. Pound down bread slice with your hand to make it flat. Place it on a plate.
2. Melt butter or margarine in microwave for about 30 seconds, enough for it to melt. Add milk in with it, mix around.
3. Pour or dip bread in to saturate it.
4. Sprinkle desired amount of cinnamon and sugar on bread piece and roll it up.
5. Sprinkle more cinnamon and sugar on top if you want.
6. Microwave for about 20-30 seconds. It gets hot really fast.

I don't have a microwave so I pre-heated my fan-forced oven at 220C (430F) and baked these for around 10-15 minutes. The outside rolls did go a bit crispy but I didn't mind, especially compared to the ones towards the middle which were a bit damp/soggy. I'd probably recommend using way less soy milk .

Next time I might try making these with a fruit bread (and less soy milk) and frosting.

i'm a lazy college student so i don't have cinnamon, but what i do is pour a bunch of plain light soymilk in a bowl, stick some earth balance in it and pour in some sugar. i microwave that until the earth balance is melted and stir it (i also taste it to see if there's enough of everything  ;) )
after that i rip up enough bread to soak up the soymilk and microwave it some more!
voila! instant bread pudding!!!! i've gone through a quarter of a bag of bread this way hahah it is sooooo addicting  ;D

my experience with this was very buttery. I used to much milk, so it was like soggy margiriney bread. then the cinnamon and sugar made it taste a little like a cinnamon roll. If i do this again, it will have less soy milk and more cinnamon and sugar. and look less like a rolled up piece of bread.... haha

Great recipe.  I made these this morning my children loved them.  My bread was hard to roll (too thin) so I just mushed it into a cinnamon roll shape!  A good easy treat to make.  As far as them being unhealthy are Cinnamon rolls supposed to be healthy??  Thanks for the great recipe!!

I think I should have put less soy milk. I used 3 1/2 tbs. The bread was a little more moist than I expected, however, it was still very tasty. And I had to put the rolls in the microwave for 45 seconds, instead.
I added a little bit of frosting, too.

You won't believe how good this is.

It is basically glammed up cinnamon toast.  And it is fabulous darlings, fab-u-lous.

I. heart. you.

These are just as delicious as regular cinnamon rolls, if not more-so.  And they took less than five minutes to make.  A perfect late-night snack for a grumbling college student with little time and a microwave at their disposal.

I actually think its a great idea! I don't like making cinnamon rolls as I would eat the whole thing.  ;D

Agreed!  When I make a pan full of cinnamon rolls, I always end up eating most of them myself, and I leave the little ones that don't look as good for the boyfriend. ;D

I think this recipe is genius.  I am going to try this for my Saturday morning breakfast this week.
