Butterscotch Puppy Chow
2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup nondairy butterscotch chips
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
5 cups vegan rice cereal (similar to Chex)
1. Place powdered sugar in a large airtight container or plastic zippered bag; set aside. In a large pot, heat chocolate, butterscotch chips and peanut butter over low heat.
2. Stir often until mixture is melted and thoroughly combined, approximately 5-8 minutes. Remove from heat and carefully stir in cereal until evenly coated.
3. Pour mixture into prepared container or bag, seal tightly, and shake to coat. Pour out onto a large piece of wax paper and allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Source of recipe: Inspired by the original recipe, I wrote this recipe and opted for extra flavor with the addition of butterscotch chips. To view more of my recipes, please visit my blog at www.VeganFoodAddict.com.
SO HOW'D IT GO?
This was extremely yummy! :D I had some peanut butter chips left and used those instead of the butterscotch. Next time, I will definitely try them with butterscotch chips. I have to admit that I have never had puppy chow before, but my vegetarian dessert expert husband agreed that these were excellent. Thanks so much for sharing.
Why thank you! So glad you liked them! You can never have too much peanut butter. :)>>>
