2 tablespoons ground flax seed
1/2 cup water
1 (16-ounce) can black beans, drained
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup cooked sweet potato
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1-1/2 cup oatmeal
1. In a small bowl, whisk together ground flax seed and water until thickens.
2. To a large bowl, flax mixture, onion, sweet potato, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, sriracha sauce, and black pepper; mash with a potato masher and stir to thoroughly combine until everything becomes mushy together.
3. Fold in oatmeal.
4. Form the black bean burgers with your hands and lay on a lightly oiled baking sheet.
5. Bake in 375 degree F oven for 15 mintues on the first side. Flip, and bake for an additional 15 minutes on the second side. Remove from the oven, but leave them on the baking sheet to keep them warm until you are ready to serve.
