Boca soy patty recipe / soy burger

What you need:

1/4 cup soy protein isolate powder
5 1/3 tablespoons water
4 drops green food coloring
8 drops red food coloring
vegan meat flavoring, to taste, optional
TVP, to taste, optional

What you do:

1. Add the soy protein isolate powder to a bowl, mix in a tiny amount of any vegan flavoring of your choice. Measure out the water in separate bowl, and add the food coloring, stir.
2. Add the brown water to the isolate powder and mix well until everything is blended, and it forms lumps and crumbles. Sprinkle a layer of TVP in a cylinder bowl, add the soy crumbles over it and pack very lightly.
3. Put in microwave for 4 minutes under 50% power. Prepare your burger ingredients while it's cooking. When it's finished, it will be solid yet flexible, just like a packaged (Boca, Morningstar) type patty. Remove it from the bowl, scrape the TVP off the bottom, and fix your burger and enjoy!
~Also be sure to check out my youtube video of making this burger.
Source of recipe: Well, not 'exactly' Boca or Morningstar, but very close. After much trial and error, I figured out the basic formula. It has exactly the same texture, consistency, and color as a store bought soy patty, and a fraction of the price! Each patty costs around $.40 cents each! It also tastes very simular and gives the option of creating custom flavors. Each patty is also very low fat, saturated fat free, and has 25g protein. I used TVP in the dish to give the bottom of the patty a more realistic texture. Without the TVP(or anything else in large grains), the bottom of the patty will come out smooth like tofu.
