SO HOW'D IT GO?

I used jessie lee's suggestions to make the sauce a little more interesting. it was just okay. i wouldn't have bothered making it a second time...  but the next day, heated up in the microwave with a little hot sauce added, it's so much better! i tossed it with whole wheat pasta and veggies.

This is such a great idea. I have been looking for a great "cheese" sauce I can make from scratch. I live in the country with the closest major grocery store about an hour away. So it's easy to buy canned beans but not so easy to buy soy cheese products.  Thank you so much!!!!!!

after reading other's comments on this recipe I gave it a try with some changes.  I added tyhe can of beans, the 2 TB of OO, 1/2 cup of nutritional yeast and used the juice of two lemons.  I also added about 1/2-1 tsp. of mustard, 1/4-1/2 tsp of black pepper, 1 TB of soy sauce instead of salt, and 1/2-1 tsp. of garlic powder (more if you love garlic).  I love how the sause became so creamy.  Oh yeah, and if you really want this recipe to be no-fat i bet you could replace the 2 TB of OO with 1 1/2 -2 T of water.  I liked this recipe, thanks.

Is there anything that could successfully substitute the oil in this recipe?

After I blended all the ingredients and had a little taste I thought it was a bit odd.  After heating it up in the microwave it was much better.  Poured some over a plate of steamed broccoli, and since the dip is made of beans and protein it was very filling.  Next time I will mix it with some salsa for a taco salad.
