Raw Pancakes

What you need:

1 cup ground flax
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 banana or handful blueberries or carob chips, optional
sprinkle salt
sprinkle cinnamon

What you do:

1. Mix all ingredients in food processor.
2. Make little patties.
3. You can eat this now if you don't have a dehydrator, or set them in the sun. I only use a dehydrator because they get warm!
Then you can add sliced fruit (I make mine plain flax and then add fruit on top) to the top. You can use maple syrup (not raw, but do what you can), or I mix agave with a tiny bit of vanilla. It is easy to over do the vanilla. But you could use orange extract or a fruit juice to mix and make flavored syrup too. This is so delicious! Enjoy!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

I seriously cannot believe how mouth-wateringly delicious, not to mention FILLING, these pancakes were. I ate them with http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=41512.0 this recipe, and it was the best breakfast EVER. Thank you a million times over. Now, to try the Raw pancakes II tomorrow!

The dehydrator is just to warm them.  When I made these I warmed them about 15 min. at 115 degrees.

Okay, I'm trying to move into raw and I was thinking of making these. I have a food dehydrator--how long would anyone recommend putting them in the dehydrator? And am I looking for the pancakes to look like anything specific, or just waiting for them to warm up? Thanks!

Yummers! How easy is this to make? Even in the food processor (on the highest setting, mind), the seeds ground BEAUTIFULLY. Good to specify GROUND flax- I tried Phyo's a while back, and the coconut oil solidified with the whole flax seed- it didn't work too well. Also, I don't think I'd recommened doing this without a mashed banana- makes all the difference in the world!

I put sorghum syrup on top (not raw, but one of the healthier snatural sweeteners), with sliced banans. Totally going to make it again!!
