Raw Brownies!

What you need:

1 cup ground pecans
1 cup dates (not soaked)
1/4 heaping cup cocao powder
1 heaping teaspoon agave nectar Icing:
1 tablespoon coconut oil or coconut butter
1 tablespoon avocado (optional)
1 tablespoon agave
1/2 tablespoon cocao powder

What you do:

1) Process the brownie ingredients. Press into a pan or bowl.
2) Now process icing ingredients. If you use the coconut oil right out of the jar (firm) it should get very creamy in your food processor. If you do it by hand, warm up the oil jar in a bowl of water and use it in liquid form.
3) Spread frosting onto brownies and refrigerate for at least ten minutes. Slice and enjoy!

SO HOW'D IT GO?

These were sooo yummy that even my omni house mate gobbled them up.  I thought they were a little rich since I don't eat many sweets.... but still like one of the best things ever!!!  Thanks for sharing ;)b!

I love these brownies. They taste like Larabars. I did not have dates, so I used raisins. Very tasty.

These were delicious and easy to make. I didn't make the frosting (trying  to cut down on calories) but they tasted great without the frosting. My only complaint is they didn't stick together so well, but that was probably my fault. Thanks!

Fantastic and super fast to make. My household loved these, I doubled the frosting and used almonds which gave it a very almond joy type flavor. Will be making again and again.

these were really really good!! I didn't feel like cleaning out my food processor so I just mashed up the dates and used my coffee grinder to grind down the nuts and then I mixed it all by hand.

I made twice as much frosting as the recipe calls for :D  the avocado was a must in the frosting and I'm glad I used it... it gave it the perrrfect texture.  These are better after they have been in the fridge for a few hours rather than a few minutes.

I could easily get fat on these so I won't be making these again for some time  :D

AM NEARLY FINISHED WITH MY FIRST BATCH OF THESE.  HAVE TO SAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER A DAY OR SO LATER-AND THEY WERE PRETTY GREAT TO START WITH.  THANKS AGAIN FOR THIS GREAT RECIPE.  WILL BE MAKING THEM OFTEN.

i made a batch of these tonight; not sure if i made them completely raw as i did not have coconut oil but used coconut milk instead.  they were pretty great, if i do say so.  in answer to someone else's question, this is how i proceeded.  i ground the pecans first and then added the dates and the rest of the ingredients.  i pressed them into a pan and made the frosting, frosted them and let them go into the fridge.  will definitely try variations on these-maybe add some banana, or some other fruit.  thanks very much for this.

These are really good! Quite chewy; definitely cures the chocolate craving without feeling guilty about all the sugar in non-raw brownies. My parents said they reminded them of the individually wrapped boxed store bought brownies.

Man, I just made these brownies, and these are phenomenal.  I added a little salt to it, just to add a bit of something extra to it, and used the non-raw frosting recipe of 1/4 C maple syrup, 1/4 c water, 1 T coconut oil, 2 T almond butter, and 1/2 C cocoa powder.  These hit every possible craving of chocolate for me.  Thank you so much!
