Peanut Butter Cup Milkshake

What you need:

1 cup ice cubes
1 cup nondairy milk
2 to 4 heaping tablespoons natural peanut butter (I use Smart Balance Peanut Butter)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons natural cane sugar or maple syrup

What you do:

1. Combine all ingredients in blender.
2. Blend until smooth.
Enjoy!
Source of recipe: This recipe came about one day when I was craving a sweet treat but was lacking the ambition or time (or both) to make something in the oven and through a bunch of things together in the blender, and was pleasantly surprised.

SO HOW'D IT GO?

This was so good! I used agave nectar in place of the sugar, and also used dark chocolate almond milk. I didn't have any vanilla, so I left that out. Really delicious, would definitely make again!

I just made this for my kids for breakfast. My only changes were that I used agave nectar for sweetening, and used Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter. Oh MY God. So delicious. I wanted to just steal the cups out of my kid's hands and run to my room and drink it all myself. awesome recipe. Thanks so much for posting. My oldest says it reminds him of Reeses peanut butter cup cereal.

I found this while looking for a good spinach smoothie recipe...
Didn't add the sugar, put put in some chocolate chips. Mmmmm... so good!

This looks like a good recipe, but I take it you mean you THREW (past tense of throw) a bunch of stuff into the blender. (Yes, I'm a bit obsessive about grammar!)

This looks yummy, but I have one question. Is it okay to use salted peanut butter, or does it need to be unsalted? Just wondering because I only have the salted kind.

Thanks!

It doesn't matter if the peanut butter is salted or not. Personally, the peanut butter I think works best is if it contains oil, (such as Smart Balance) otherwise if you use natural I've found it to be a bit grainy.

Try making this with PB2 - all the goodness, virtually no fat, and no graininess.  Add a tablespoon of carob powder or cocoa for a Reese's-like smoothie!  Mmmmmm.  Seriously, we just got our first order of PB2 and my son thought up something similar to use it in.  It's a WOW!

This was really good. I ended up using almond milk and peanut butter from whole foods. It seemed a little grainy but I still thought it was great!
