Raw Backpacking Power BarsIngredients (use vegan versions): 1 cup almond butter
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup ground flax
1/4 cup ground pecan
1/4 cup dates
pinch of salt (if almond butter is unsalted)
ALTERNATIVE: Coffee Bars
Omit almond butter
can sub dates with raisins
add 1 teaspoon agave
1/2 cup ground pecans instead of 1/4
add 2 tablespoon ground espresso beans
Directions:I know the coffee bars aren't raw. But I was backpacking and didn't care! I really needed the boost! Feel free to try maca!
The almond ones are AMAZING and addicting.
Process until pasty, form into bars on a mesh sheet for your dehydrator and dehydrate at 95 for an hour OR refrigerate for an hour. I found that dehydrating worked best as far as easy to handle, not as sticky..
